GETTYSBURG, Pa. (AP) Authorities say a man participating in a free speech rally at Gettysburg National Military Park accidentally shot himself in the leg.
Park spokeswoman Katie Lawhon says the man's revolver accidentally discharged shortly before 1 p.m. Saturday near the Meade Equestrian Statue in the central Pennsylvania park.
United States Park Police Sgt. Anna Rose says police quickly applied a tourniquet, and the man was taken to a hospital for medical care. PennLive.com reports that he was talking with paramedics and seemed in good spirits.
Lawhon says she didn't know if the man was with a particular group but said he was participating in First Amendment demonstrations taking place at the park. Federal laws permit firearms in national parks.

(32,610 posts)... I've been to Gettysburg several times and I haven't seen many POC there.
Maybe POC visitors to the historic sites, but not living in Gettysburg.
So in this case maybe the cops are just doing their jobs and not taking sides.

Given the context of the original intent and the history of quartering, it's incredibly easy to draw the parallel between forcing a homeowner to shelter and nourish agents of the government without compensation or permission and forcing a person to house and nourish a fetus without compensation of permission.

Remind them who started the fight, and why they started it.
And that we finished the fight, and let them limp away without anyone getting hanged.

(2,375 posts)Your suggestion that I don't view the guy as an idiot.......in essence distorting my viewpoint to suit your narrative.
