New Poll: Americans Trust CNN More Than Trump By a 50-43 Margin

“You are fake news!” Then President-elect Donald Trump told CNN’s Jim Acosta at a press conference in January.

Turns out, according to a new poll, that a majority of Americans do not agree. But the overall margin is slender and (surprise, surprise) the survey breaks down sharply along partisan lines.

According to a new SurveyMonkey poll published by Axios, 50 percent of Americans trust CNN more than they trust President Donald Trump. Forty-three percent, meanwhile, trust the President more than they do the cable news network.

The breakdown of how members of the two parties answered this question, though, is truly stunning. Ninety-one percent of Democrats find CNN to be more truthful than Trump. While 89 percent of Republicans find Trump to be the more honest broker. Independents backed CNN over the President by a 55-40 split.

If pollsters had only called you, me and few other people on DU, then Trump's credibility would actually be -zero-.

But they're calling people who own landlines, during dinner time, and who answers their phone then? I surely don't. But older home owners do and let's make some assumptions. Probably white, probably retired, probably more conservative, possibly a Rush Limbaugh or Fox News listener, likely a church-goer of some kind. Are you getting my drift?

These are people who voted for Trump and maybe still haven't given up hope on him.

God knows, everybody else has.

10. The poll makes no sense since CNN has only 800,000 viewers out of 330 million Americans.

Their viewers are only one quarter of 1% of the population. So how can 50% of Americans trust CNN when almost none of them watch it? Is the poll just CNN viewers?
