Cruz calls for ‘clean repeal’ of ACA if Senate talks fall apart — aligning him with Trump, not McConnell

By Sean Sullivan July 6 at 9:49 PM

AUSTIN — Sen. Ted Cruz (R-Tex.) said Thursday that he agrees with President Trump: If Republican senators are unable to pass a bill to repeal and replace key parts of the Affordable Care Act, the Senate should vote on a narrower bill to simply repeal the law and work on a replacement later.

“If we cannot bring the conference together and agree on repeal legislation, then I think President Trump’s absolutely right that we should pass a clean repeal,” Cruz told reporters.

Cruz said such a repeal should be delayed “either a year or two years” to give lawmakers time to work on a replacement.

Cruz made his comments after a town hall event here hosted by Concerned Veterans For America, a group backed by the conservative Koch brothers. The comments came the same day that Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-Ky.) leaned further into a very different kind of backup plan: working with Democrats on a more modest bill to stabilize insurance markets.

"...such a repeal should be delayed “either a year or two years” to give lawmakers time to work on a replacement."

Yeah! What's a year or two? That cancer, that tumor on your brain, that erratic heartbeat, that numbness in your foot, that constant headache, those pre- and post-natal visits, those out-of-control premiums, that opioid problem, that black lung, those mammograms? They can ALL wait! 'Fer Chriss-sake! There's no hurry. Besides - we got PRAYER!

And wait a year? You mean like 2018? An general ELECTION year? When YOU are up for reelection? When the House will be up for grabs?

Are you this stew-pud?

All of them so so anxious to take away insurance for millions and millions of people. And that celebration in the Rose Garden after the house passed it turned my stomach.

The GOP has had years to come up with their replacement and they have nothing to show for it. They will never come up with a viable plan.

It would take 50 votes plus VP to do what Cruz says..but we already know there are some, pukes who want a replacement, not a repeal. And those pukes have proven, that it is not just any replacement that they will vote for.

So, if 3 of them say no total repeal, because repeal would also pull millions off of health insurance.......than.................................................................
those 3 have proven the entire lie of the repeal Obamacare movement..We are talking about 3..to prove Cruz is a liar. And...I think there are 3 who would stop that repeal..just 3, and I think there are 3..

Despite that, it's awful knowing that so many will suffer a result. At least for the near the future. Things might ultimately improve once real reform is put forward and implemented, but that does little to help who need the care now or will need it in near future. Republicans are such pieces of shit.
