When the bodies of sisters Tiffany Ear and Glynnis Fox return home to Morley for the last time this weekend, a bonfire will burn outside their home until they're finally laid to rest. ... The mothers, who leave behind 16 children between them, are victims of what Calgary police are now treating as a quadruple homicide.
....

"Of course we’re feeling sad," said Lorenzo Ear, whose big sisters were among three victims discovered Monday in a burned vehicle in northwest Calgary.

Acting Insp. Paul Wozney of the Calgary Police Service's major crimes unit said Thursday that police believe Ear, 39, and Fox, 36, along with 25-year-old Cody Pfeiffer, are suspected to have been caught up in a deadly plot targeting the owner of the vehicle they were found in: 26-year-old Hanock Afowerk. ... Afowerk's body was discovered Wednesday morning in a ditch near the intersection of highways 8 and 22.
....

Lorenzo said he had hoped to have many more years with his big sisters, laughing, "holding them in my arms — one on the left, one on the right.

"Unfortunately, they are now part of a statistic of murdered and missing Aboriginal women in Canada," said Lorenzo.

"That's just the way it is."

there is always less media attention when bad things happen to the first Americans. All lives matter. But some lives matter more than others. One can tell how much a life matters by how much effort they spend searching for you if you go missing. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Missing_white_woman_syndrome

I listen to a lot of CBC radio - they do a lot of coverage, actually, but little seems to be done to aggressively end the problem on the law enforcement side.

And their father that were murdered last week near Atlanta. There is a definite hierarchy to mass murders both how much coverage and reaction they generate.

These murders don't make the cut...
