Trump's Campaign Conceded in a Memo That Comey Was Having Major Impact

The Clinton theory of the race gains a bit of credence.

Donald Trump’s presidential campaign acknowledged in an internal memo that former FBI Director James Comey’s 11th hour decision to reopen an inquiry into Hillary Clinton’s use of private email helped shift the results.

Reported in Joshua Green’s new book Devil’s Bargain, the memo gives credence to an argument long espoused by Clinton world that Comey’s announcement propelled Trump to victory. The wording itself isn’t that explicit. But it constitutes primary evidence documentation in general support of this theory.

The memo was authored by some of Trump’s pollsters and data gurus just five days before the vote. Days earlier, Comey had reopened his investigation after FBI agents found additional emails on a laptop belonged Anthony Weiner, the now estranged husband of Clinton’s longtime aide Huma Abedin. While polling began to swing towards Trump, virtually all prognosticators still had Clinton heading for a comfortable win on November 8. On the Trump campaign, however, Green writes that “it was suddenly clear” that the investigation “was roiling the electorate.”

“The last few days have proven to be pivotal in the minds of voters with the recent revelations in reopening the investigation of Secretary Clinton,” the memo read, according to Green. “Early polling numbers show declining support for Clinton, shifting in favor of Mr. Trump.”
It added: “This may have a fundamental impact on the results.”

I bet the "millions of illegal votes" were not for Clinton, but for Trump through hacked voting machines in the South and Midwest. He seems to project a lot of his faults/problems onto others.

Unless of course one wishes to distract from current failures of KGOP & the ongoing preparations being made by Team Mueller.

BESIDES all the other shenanigans, is that they are comprised of assholes like Ryan and Mitch, Sessions and Cruz...but also that they attract conservative minded people like Comey. People who THINK they are a part of a noble Christian family orientated, fiscally responsible, defenders of the constitution party. They are uncomfortable with culture changes like acceptance of gay marriage, or pot legalization, or women in charge, etc. which they see the Democratic party representing, but still believe in the law, in right and wrong, unlike the former four.

So when push comes to shove, in a close election, the assholes rely on good soldiers like Comey (or Colin Powell) to 'do their duty' to the party if there is an opportunity. Of course later on some of them are smart enough to know they were played.

Colin Powell said it was "painful" for him personally and would be a permanent "blot" on his record.

Comey said he still has no regrets but was feeling “mildly nauseous’’ at the thought that his decisions about a probe into Hillary Clinton might have affected the outcome of the election.

But the assholes like Mitch will always find a new 'good soldier' in the ranks when they need one.
