Another day, another round of personal attacks lobbed at Attorney General Jeff Sessions by the president.
For a week now, President Donald Trump has been tossing harsh criticism at Sessions in what appears to be an effort to force the attorney general to resign. Trump has stated over these past few days that hes upset with Sessions over the AGs recusal from the Russia probe. In this instance, Trump took shots at Sessions for allowing fired FBI Director James Comey to be temporarily replaced by the deputy director:

What makes these tweets even more notable is that Sessions was actually at the White House in routine meetings at the time.
Yesterday, it was reported that Sessions has told the White House he would not resign, essentially forcing the presidents hand if he wants him removed from his post. The same report noted that aides and advisers are trying to get Trump to meet with Sessions and hash out their issues. Furthermore, it was pointed out by at least one associate that Trump doesnt want to personally fire Sessions so soon after he terminated Comey.

(10,252 posts)I'm no Jeff Sessions fan, but I have to admire that part of him that is the pluckey little fellow, who doesn't wither away from cowardly bully Trump. I suspect that Sessions is much more admired by the Trumpsters for his racism and hateful views - and he knows it.

(15,696 posts)... And it won't look like Trump fired Sessions on purpose so he could put Rudy in to fire Mueller. That's how the orange assface thinks.
I hate Sessions with a purple passion, but I hope he makes Trump fire him instead of giving in.

(15,696 posts)He'd have access to evry document even remotely related to the law in the country. And he'd have the power to contol lots of lesser beings, which is what he and Trump live for.

(28,787 posts)of a petulant child. then again Sessions was that child's first and biggest fan so i don't pity him in the least. i think trump really truly believes that anyone lucky enough to work for him should be fully prepared for prison time if necessary in order to stay within his orbit. what the republicans have brought upon this country i will never forgive them for; trump is the living proof of just how far they would go just to enrich themselves and their donors.

(31,513 posts)Trumps claim, which suggests a quid pro quo, suffers one from fatal flaw: The timeframe doesnt add up.
At the time of the contribution, the candidate's husband was not directly involved in the FBI probe of Clinton's email server, according to the FBI. The bureau says that by the time he had some oversight role in the Clinton investigation, the election involving his wife had been over for three months.

He lies and he lies and he lies. His base seems to never tire of hearing his lies.
