Pentagon briefly worried that Trump was declaring war.

Source: Political Wire

President Trump’s “abrupt announcement” banning transgender people from the military “seemed to stun military leaders,” even though Trump said in a series of tweets that he consulted with “my generals and military experts,” BuzzFeed reports.

“At the Pentagon, the first of the three tweets raised fears that the president was getting ready to announce strikes on North Korea or some other military action. Many said they were left in suspense for nine minutes, the time between the first and second tweet. Only after the second tweet did military officials receive the news the president was announcing a personnel change on Twitter.”

I'm not talking about the transgender ban here, which is disgusting and ridiculous in its own right, I'm talking about the fact that our military leaders were waiting on a fucking tweet to see if our "President" was declaring strikes or a war!!!! WTF!!! This isn't normal and it's not ok!

And it's friggin' sad that high level military personnel were monitoring Twitter for 9 minutes wondering if we were going to war. I don't know what's worse.. That people think that the president would announce something so important on Twitter, or that I know he would. I'm just in awe of this man's ineptitude.

"Are we going to war?"
"I don't know. Let's look at the president's Twitter account."

Just... ugh.

We've come a long way from Roosevelt.
"Yesterday, December 7, 1941 — a date which will live in infamy — the United States of America was suddenly and deliberately attacked 1/21" (yes, I did the math)

Kind of makes you wonder.

I would guess that his Russian paymasters monitor the tweets on a real time basis. Who knows, maybe an intern does it. As punishment.

Now imagine they had the same reaction as those in the Pentagon. A lot can happen in 9 minutes. Think about it. Sit still for 9 minutes and just think about the tweets, the reaction in the Pentagon, the poor schmuck of an intern stuck with tweet reading. And then think about how long it takes to get bombers into the air. Or bombs. From both sides. Imagine the Pentagon doing something that prompted noticeable military activity in South Korea, or in the nearby oceans. Maybe a phone call from the Pentagon to the White House asking WTF, with the buffoon directing a nuclear strike from the toilet, not knowing or caring what he's done or what the result might be. Or think about Kim Jong-un looking at any military movement across the border and making his own assessment and taking what he believes are defensive actions involving the launching of a missile.

Nine minutes.
