A man accused of killing his wife Tuesday aboard a cruise ship off Southeast Alaska was caught trying to drag her body to the balcony of their blood-splattered cabin, according to an FBI criminal complaint.

Kenneth Manzanares, 39, of Santa Clara, Utah, has been arrested on murder charges in the killing of his 39-year-old wife, Kristy Manzanares, aboard the Emerald Princess, the U.S. Attorney's Alaska office announced Thursday.

The ship was in U.S. territorial waters beyond Alaska's jurisdiction, putting the case in federal hands, the office said.
....

Passengers told CBS News that the couple was on the ship with a large group, including their children. The Manzanares' former neighbors said the couple was celebrating an anniversary, according to CBS.

This has been sourced to Margaret Atwood (though I can't find clear proof that she said it). Actually, it doesn't matter who said it, because it holds a lot of truth.

This sounds like very erratic response to something that only drugs seems to make a response like this...

No doubt. It could have been anything, but yeah, it sounds as if the guy was impaired to the point of insanity.

especially my own wife! Especially in front of the children!!

Holy fuck, what an awful story. I sure feel sorry for those kids.

"My life is over," says the asshole. No, your wife's life is over, and your kids' lives have a shadow hanging over them now that will be there the rest of their lives.

The only reason this is getting publicity is because it happened on a cruise ship.

because you murdered her!

That he said such a thing after killing his wife, the mother of his 3 daughters, tells you that he is and always has been a self-absorbed pr**k.

He wasn't even thinking of how traumatized his kids must be. He was thinking only of how unfortunate this is all going to be for him.
