Two border control agents at the U.S.-Mexico border encouraged a 16-year old to drink liquid meth, government surveillance footage shows. As the Daily News reports, the teenager would die less than two hours later.
In video published by ABC News, officers Valerie Baird and Adrian Perallon appear to persuade Mexico native Cruz Velazquez to take four sips from liquid-filled bottles that tests would later confirm contained a highly-concentrated solution of methamphetamine.
The 2013 video shows the officers examine the two bottles, then give the OK for Valezquez to consume the liquid. The teenager later became agitated and started shouting my heart in Spanish.
I never asked him to. He volunteered to and I believe I gestured to him to go ahead, Perallon insisted.

(51,585 posts)and I personally know a border agent and have driven/walked across the border many times in the 30 years since I have moved here and nothing like that has ever happened to me. However, I am white and don't have an accent. From my experiences the police in San Diego are militant and sound like the Border Patrol officers described above. The Border Patrol can be very intimidating and I wouldn't be surprised at all if this happened. In fact I would bet it happens often. When I cross the border I break into a sweat every single time (which makes me look like I am hiding something). I purposely get left overs from a meal to bring back as "proof" that I am not bringing anything illegal back into the country. It is really scary! And they don't just check everything when you cross the border, they stop every single car on the road 15 miles into the US side to double check.

(21,506 posts)The agent that I dealt with was a complete jerk. I had not been to Mexico in 30 years and drove in. Had Google navigate me out and it directed me to the wrong lane. Was not aware there were different lanes. Anyway this clown acted like I shot someone. Complete asshat "we are going to impound your car and fine you 10k "...
Sent us to be searched etc. Was ridiculous and I am a white guy had my whole family in the car small children. Can not imagine what a Hispanic person would have gone through in the same situation.
Was an awesome vacation right up until we tried to enter the United States. I frankly found it embarrassing for my country.
