Trump suspects Bannon of leaking, putting job in jeopardy
Source: Axios
President Trump has told close associates that he believes Steve Bannon is behind damaging leaks about White House colleagues, putting the chief strategist's job in fresh jeopardy, sources close to the president tell me.
Trump has told associates he's fed up with what he sees as self-promotion by Bannon, who did not join the core team this week at the president's golf club in Bedminster, N.J.
Bannon's time with Trump has diminished since the new chief of staff, retired Marine Gen. John Kelly, took over and imposed discipline on the circus around the Oval Office.
Bannon declined to comment.

(5,808 posts)I don't care if he is firing him for getting in tRump's personal stash of Diet Coke. Just get rid of him. And while you're at it tell Miller to clean out his desk, too.

Trump is a person with extremely diminished capacity being rocked to and fro by whichever feckless self-promoter has his ear last. This is what is was like living in a half-assed medieval monarchy, with an extremely weak monarch at the helm. Moronic children of the monarch in positions of prestige, and their various hijinks, constantly changing positions as various courtiers influence the dummy this way and that.
We have pseudo-feudalism (rentierism) as our ruling economic mode now, so of course we end up with a revived feudalism in our politics.
Capitalism is a fucking joke.

(15,246 posts)but two potential problems with that. One Bannon would be the camel outside the tent and p-----g in it instead of inside and out. Two, all the Mercer money is attached to Bannon and would walk out the door with him. We all know that Trump only spends OPM, not his own.
Trump's impulsive so he might just dump Bannon regardless.

(15,246 posts)I happened to just catch the Mooch live on This Week. George was asking him about Bannon. Mooch said Trump had a good idea who the "leakers" were, implying Bannon was one of them. George kept pressing and Mooch said "well, yeah" when he was asked if Bannon was one before moving on to say he wasn't going to speak for Trump.
There might be fire under the smoke here.
