The White House is pressing President Trump's allies in Congress to argue that "the president was entirely correct" in his assertion that both white nationalist groups and anti-racism protesters deserve blame for the violence that erupted in Charlottesville, Va. over the weekend.

In talking points sent to GOP members of Congress Tuesday and obtained by The Atlantic, the White House communications office urges Republicans to cast Trump's message as one of unity and argue that the president did, in fact, unequivocally condemn racism.

"The President was entirely correct – both sides of the violence in Charlottesville acted inappropriately, and bear some responsibility," the talking points read.

................

The talking points are intended to help the president's allies rebut criticism mounting around Trump's criticism of what he called the "alt-left" during a contentious news ........

I want to know if John Kelly wrote or approved of these lies???

"The President condemned – with no ambiguity – the hate groups fueled by bigotry and racism over the weekend, and did so by name yesterday, but for the media that will never be enough," it continues

'The President Was Entirely Correct'

President Trump’s remarks on the deadly white-supremacist rally in Charlottesville have sparked widespread outrage. But the White House is asking congressional Republicans to follow his lead.

Every day, the White House communications office sends official talking points to Republican members of Congress. These communiqués help the GOP stay on the same page (and, in the Trump era, help the embattled president’s allies come up with arguments in his defense).

On Tuesday evening, a few hours after the president’s inflammatory press conference defending white nationalist protesters in Charlottesville, the office issued an “evening communications briefing,” which was passed along to me by a Republican congressional aide. It encourages members to echo the president’s line, contending that “both sides … acted inappropriately, and bear some responsibility.”

You can read the talking points in their entirety here. The links in the text are the White House’s. The briefing goes on to include a transcript of the president’s question-and-answer session with reporters at Trump Tower, followed by commentary on other issues.

The article also includes a Transcript of the vile Trump comments:

Q Mr. President, why do you think these CEOs are leaving your manufacturing council?

I bet they shy away from that phrase, because he is completely wrong, and he said some things that were very wrong

Also, who cares what they say, what the WH says, what DT says....they have completely abandoned their moral and civil leadership of our nation

Sticks and stones are breaking bones, their words are useless

stuck to this BS? Called him "entirely correct"? Because the only defense of the wretch I've seen is from david duke and robert spencer. THAT'S who we get to tag anyone who uses these talking points with and if Democrats fail to do that, they deserve to lose.

wrote this. He also likely sent a copy to Not-So-Breitbart his brainchild. He is getting HIS agenda passed. Why no words from Kushner? His family must be making money hand over fist to keep quiet amid all these insulting anti Jewish displays. Donnie Two Scoops must like Bannon best, since HE does not sleep with his favorite daughter/wife.

I doubt seriously if there is a "decent republican" anywhere.
The last "decent" republican President we had was Eisenhower.
