Senate Republicans are stumbling forward with their new zombie Trumpcare bill to repeal Obamacare — and they will hold a vote this month, before the nonpartisan Congressional Budget Office tells them how many people might be tossed off of coverage if it becomes law. The drawback of this — or is it a benefit, given that the public is also being kept in the dark? — is that Republicans will vote on the bill without knowing all that much about how it would impact their own states, not to mention the rest of the country.

Unfortunately for the bill’s supporters, a new study just came out that will enable Republicans to make a somewhat more informed decision about this legislation, after all. And it could deal a blow to the bill’s chances. It should, anyway.

The study, which was released this morning by Avalere Health, a consulting firm, finds that many states will see sizable cuts to the federal money that would flow to their states, relative to current law. Some of those states are represented by the GOP Senators who are currently deciding whether to back the bill, including Lisa Murkowski of Alaska, Susan Collins of Maine, Rob Portman of Ohio, and John McCain of Arizona.

Here’s a chart from the study that demonstrates how the bill — which is being championed by Senators Bill Cassidy and Lindsey Graham — would impact the federal funding to states. Because of the bill’s complex funding formula, some states gain, relative to what spending would be under current law (the Affordable Care Act) and others lose. The blue ones are the losers:

Please post on all your social media sites--and send to your Senators. We must do everything possible to stop passage of Graham Cassidy bill. we must.

Despite the losses some red states will take, this is basically what's happening.

The biggest hope is that enough states with GOP senators or Governors are getting hit significantly to raise opposition.

And the MSM won't bother saying a word until a CBO score is done, but the treacherous McConnell just makes up Senate rules to suit his needs, and they'll vote before the release of the score with NO debate.

Imagine if Harry Reid had pulled the ugly stunts McConnell has. Hoping for some measure of justice to be leveled on ol' Mitch soon.

they just didn't use it at the time. So they saved it and spent all summer buying votes from the red state GOP senators and they are taking that money from the blue states. I stayed vigilant and knew McConnell desperately needs a win and he will do anything, no matter how unethical it is. Remember Gorsuch?

Call Congress (202)224-3121 and tell them to go to HELL, McConnell knows the way!

of the need to call our Senators on a regular basis, they need our support now more than ever. I will call McCain and Flake to receive the party line talking points, ACA bad, repeal good BS.

Never surrender to the forces of evil, resist.
