Many Trump voters who got hurricane relief in Texas aren't sure Puerto Ricans should

Ramirez worries that when the government makes money easily available after a natural disaster, there’s an opportunity for corruption and a chance that some people will take more than they need. And she thinks that media coverage of the crisis in Puerto Rico has lacked context, especially in reporting that nearly all of the island is still without electricity.

“Guess what? There’s a big chunk of the population that lives without electricity all the time,” Ramirez said, saying he was sharing the experiences of a friend who has family on the island. Hogg, 76, nodded his head in agreement: “They never had it. Never had it.”

“They don’t live deprived because it’s a beautiful environment,” she continued. “The weather is nice, the climate is good, most of the time, so it’s different from here .?.?. It works there because of the climate. It wouldn’t work here.”

About 96 percent of Puerto Rico electricity customers had service before Maria made landfall, according to federal data; many of the rest had no power because of Hurricane Irma two weeks earlier.

“I object. I object. They should stay where they are and fix their own country up,” Hogg responded softly, shaking his head, wrongly referring to the U.S. territory as a separate nation.

Another knuckle-walker, proudly displaying his ignorance.

She must be referring to donnie getting an exorbitant payout for fake damage claims at Mar-A-Dumpo:

Donald Trump Got $17 Million Insurance Payout for Damage Few Recall

Trump’s description of extensive damage does not match those of Mar-a-Lago members and even Trump loyalists. In an interview about the estate’s history, Trump’s longtime former butler, Anthony Senecal, recalled no catastrophic damage. He said Hurricane Wilma, the last of a string of storms that barreled through in 2004 and 2005, flattened trees behind Mar-a-Lago, but the house itself only lost some roof tiles.

“That house has never been seriously damaged,” said Senecal, discussing Mar-a-Lago’s luck with hurricanes. “I was there for all of them.”

How un-American is that? I thought we were the United States? Or are we just the states that tRump favors?

I remember having a discussion with my wife after Harvey hit Houston about how Trump may respond in terms of aid when a disaster happens in a blue state. We very quickly got our answer. He is only pResident for the states he chooses. Fuck the whole cabal.

Yes,, you can live without AC as long as you stay hydrated and are healthy, but the same can be said of Houston. But you still need a fridge. You need running water. You need sewers. You need gas stations, hospitals, police departments, streetlights, etc.

It's like they imagine an island full of grass-skirt-wearing natives living in stick huts.

What to do, how to do it, how past disasters unfolded, a lot of TRANSITION TRAINING. Over the past eight years Obama admin, UPGRADED and funded Americas disaster plans and policies. The transitions are also upgraded and funded. probably a lot of reading for a new president- its up to the new president to learn how to be a president.

Apparently this new t(R)ump "Administration" doesn't understand their "jobs" or are outright incompetent at their jobs. The CEO trump is responsible for his admin. 100%.
