Trump: 'I don't know' if I'll interview with Mueller

Source: The Hill

BY JESSE BYRNES - 10/20/17 06:28 PM EDT

President Trump declined to commit to interviewing with special counsel Robert Mueller, saying in comments released Friday that he has not been asked to do so.

"I don’t know. I mean I – nobody's asked me to do that," Trump told Fox Business Network's Maria Bartiromo when asked if he would do an interview with Mueller.

Bartiromo pointed to media reports that Trump's legal team was weighing whether the president should interview with the special counsel. Trump continued to insist during the Fox Business interview that "there is no collusion" amid federal and congressional probes into his campaign associates' ties to Russia during the 2016 election.

"There is no collusion, I can tell you that," Trump said, claiming "everybody's seen that."

take the witness stand at his own criminal trial prosecuted by Mueller.

If I was him, I wouldn't take the stand either.

Traitor, money launderer, thief, and cheat. And a liar.

This country has a long tradition of letting criminal presidents skate. Everything indicates Mueller is just running out the clock.

..."Sorry. My bad. Won't do it again."

And that'll be that.

People who sincerely believe that Trump, Pence, and the rest are going to be frog-marched out of the White House and America's long nightmare will be over are setting themselves up for disappointment.

Or at the earliest, on the day he goes for the interview.

If Trump says one of those phrases, it's about a lie he is telling.
