Rep. Mo Brooks Voting for Roy Moore Because Conservatism Is 'Vastly More Important' Than Allegations

Source: Mediate

by Ken Meyer | 8:38 am, November 14th, 2017

Congressman Mo Brooks (R-AL) says he will continue to support Roy Moore because the conservative agenda is too important to be derailed by the sexual allegations against the embattled senate candidate.

Moore’s campaign is under increasing pressure now that a fifth woman has come out with her claims about Moore’s disturbing behavior towards her when she was a teenager. Multiple Republican figures have dropped their endorsements for Moore’s campaign and recommended that he step down in favor of a Republican write-in candidate for next month’s election.

Based on Brook’s statement to The Birmingham News, it seems he’ll support Moore despite the recent news:

“America faces huge challenges that are vastly more important than contested sexual allegations from four decades ago. Who will vote in America’s best interests on Supreme Court justices, deficit and debt, economic growth, border security, national defense, and the like? Socialist Democrat Doug Jones will vote wrong. Roy Moore will vote right. Hence, I will vote for Roy Moore.”

transfer of most wealth to very few people, while cutting social programs that benefit the people, privatizing everything, massive deregulation and passing all the costs of everything onto what was once the middle class.

You know, I'm getting pretty tired of these Republican donors calling the shots.

only applies when attacking Democrats.

Manufacturing a pejorative by ignorant mis-application of the term "Socialist" only further supports the fact that pedophilia has now been "normalized" and is acceptable by the GOP.

Although their party certainly has nothing to do with conservatism if they'll vote for a pedophile.

Tue Nov 14, 2017, 10:24 AM

It all started when the religious right sold their souls to the repub party going back to Nixon. Election after election these religious repubs were promised the end of abortion and establishing a Christian nation as they defined it. Nothing was done as to big legislation, but slowly the repubs have chipped away at abortion rights and mixing religion with government. Frustrated repubs joined the tea bagger movement and many are in the House now. Many of these tea baggers have taken over the states' repub parties. The so called establishment repubs did nothing to stop them thinking they would get their votes and then these folks would shut up. It hasn't worked out that way and now they have such a horrible candidate in Roy Moore. I truly believe Roy Moore will be elected. The repubs in Alabama do not want to be told who to support. They are on the extreme right and do not like the so called establishment repubs.

The mess going on with the repubs is why I keep pointing out that we on the left need to stay united and focus on beating the crap out of the repubs where possible. This can only be done by supporting the Democratic Party candidates. Get wins and then make the changes to the Dem Party that folks have been talking about. I sure hope we on the left don't end up like what is going on with the repubs. We won't win that way.

in order to keep the Rs in power.

These R only voters have had their brains cooked by the 24/7 hate talk they marinate in.

Did you know that Hillary Clinton had somebody shot to cover up Bill's cocaine ring?

I stumbled across a FM station late Sunday .... I had listened to some football on it earlier

I am striking the word unbelievable from my personal dialog because what is happening is all too believable.
I marvel that we can still be shocked by the complete moral landslide that is the Republican Party, when we have born witness to it here on DU for more than a decade?
We have held many funerals for the GOP before... let's not let our guard down. Remain active the fight has just begun.

I’d still vote for that candidate if the alternative candidate with a significant likelihood of winning was a Republican. While I disagree with Brooks’ agenda, I get his point.

Someone else is sacrificed so that Republicans can keep reeling in billionaire dollars, and faux religion xenophobic votes.

This is why Trump could claim he could stand in the middle of Fifth and shoot someone and not lose voters.

He knew his voting base plus the magic of social media fake news magnification (courtesy of the finest of Russian intelligence) would keep him in the game.

Roy Moore may only have his voting base but who knows where those crazy Kremlin tentacles may reach.

So from the conservative agenda, raping and molesting children (drumpf and more respectively) is not as important as cutting taxes on the rich? This is so totally sickening, win at all costs, including the lives of women and children - as long as it's not their particular wives and children?

This country is totally full of sick, demented, power hungry, traitorous assholes, especially at the top of the food chain!

"The latest accusation against Moore comes from Beverly Young Nelson, who says Moore tried to rape her in his car when she was 16. Moore has denied Nelson’s accusations and said he didn’t know her even though she presented the media with her old yearbook that Moore signed back in 1979."
So, he molested or attempted to molest/rape so many girls he can't remember them all?

Watch them squirm. Continue to divide the Republicans.

The Republicans are pretty good at diving the Democrats and controlling the the news cycle narratives. The Democrats should jump on this agenda vs. values/decency doctrine.

So the Candidate’s truthfulness and values do not matter, EVER, and they never did. The ability to lie and deceive is all that matters.
