Stone appeared to know Franken allegation was coming
Source: The Hill
Former Trump campaign adviser Roger Stone appeared to know there were sexual misconduct allegations involving Sen. Al Franken (D-Minn.) hours before they became public.
Stone has been banned from Twitter, but at 1 a.m. on Thursday morning an account connected to him tweeted a quote from the Republican political operative.
"Roger Stone says it's Al Franken's 'time in the barrel'. Franken next in long list of Democrats to be accused of 'grabby' behavior," read the tweet from Enter the Stone Zone.

Hours later, Leeann Tweeden, a KABC-AM news anchor, accused Franken of kissing and groping her without her consent in 2006. Tweeden said the incidents occurred during a USO tour to entertain troops abroad. She also tweeted a photograph of Franken as evidence.

(6,241 posts)Let's face it. There is always someone to offer an excuse or reason to downplay it. Locker room talk. Especually if it's your guy in the hot seat.
I say burn them all. Repub, Dem, sports player, entertainer, whomever it is. People that haven't learned lessons from day one of Kindergarten, that can't keep their hands tobthemselves, deserve no pity.

Coincidence?

(81,220 posts)my suspicions were immediately triggered. They don't make much room for liberals in the on-air staff there. KABC radio (790 AM) for years has leaned rightward, hoping in vain to steal away some of then-ratings-champ KFI enjoyed. KFI was the limbaugh station here in Los Angeles. Unfortunately, KABC couldn't compete. Their puny 5,000 watts left them out of the market for lack of signal strength, especially after sundown. There were big swaths of town where you wouldn't be able to hear them at all. HERE. In L.A.
KFI on the other hand, at 640 AM, was a clear channel station (NOT the radio conglomerate ClearChannel which attempted to rebrand itself not long ago as iHeartRadio). In that context, it applied to a select number of radio stations across the country that had their frequency assignments all to themselves - for hundreds of miles. No other station anywhere in the general timezone could get that frequency. It was for the Emergency Broadcast System. A clear channel station could be expected to stay on the air during an emergency and be the source of information, news, national security warnings, public safety, and other essentials. Other stations would go dark, and only the clear channel outlets remained on. They had serious wattage - you could hear KFI halfway across the country some nights. There was NO way KABC-AM was able to compete. They were pretty much where right-wing talk show hosts could work if they couldn't get hired at KFI. I basically stopped listening to them when Michael Jackson - the talk show host, not the "King of Pop," left. KABC-AM is still the poor second-place finisher.

(22,061 posts)And not just because I love Al. I just saw an interview with the accusing woman. It looked fairly rehearsed, and acted. Not much emotion. If she was on this USO tour with him, as an entertainer, what is she doing in full battle gear?
I think we're going to see a lot of shit thrown at the wall to see what sticks now by Rethugs.

(30,809 posts)(until I found out she was right wing, of course) because it's absurd to think she was traumatized to the point of tears by an unwanted kiss. I am sick of women acting like weak and helpless victims. I have had more than my share of 'me too' occurrences and not one of them makes me cry, years later.
