CLEVELAND, Ohio - Bill O'Neill's gubernatorial campaign manager has resigned following a Facebook post where O'Neill talked about his sex life in response to sexual harassment allegations against Democratic U.S. Sen. Al Franken.
Chris Clevenger, the campaign manager for the Ohio Supreme Court Justice, said in a series of tweets he was leaving the campaign. Clevenger said he is also a victim of sexual assault, but told cleveland.com he doesn't know if O'Neill was aware of that.
"I'm a homosexual male and the fact that his post led with, 'On behalf of all heterosexual males,' I was a bit taken aback," Clevenger added.
In the Facebook post, O'Neill talked about what he said are his sexual exploits. In an interview with cleveland.com, O'Neill confirmed he was the author of the post and defended them.
O'Neill has been widely condemned, including calls for his resignation. Chief Justice Maureen O'Connor also criticized him
in a statement.
