Comey tweets Eisenhower quote about the importance of integrity

Source: The Hill

BY JOHN BOWDEN - 11/17/17 04:01 PM EST

Former FBI Director James Comey tweeted a quote from former President Dwight Eisenhower on Friday about the importance of integrity in leadership amid news reports about sexual harassment by prominent members of both political parties.

he tweet comes as Congress reels from sexual assault accusations facing both Sen. Al Franken (D-Minn.) and GOP Alabama Senate candidate Roy Moore. Franken apologized Thursday for his actions, while Moore has vocally denied any wrongdoing and vowed to stay in the race ahead of the December special election.

The former FBI director has avoided tweeting directly about political news and events since he was fired by President Trump in May. Some of his tweeted quotes, however, have been taken by many to be indirect shots at political figures or referencing current events.

In late October, Comey tweeted about "man's inclination towards injustice" after former Trump campaign chairman Paul Manafort was indicted on fraud and money laundering charges.

Everything he did he did to cover his ass and buff his image. I doubt if he was going to rock the boat but crazy Trump fired him anyway, for all the wrong reasons. Nobody was more surprised than Comey.

are not given the respect and appreciation for their service they deserve. I would be surprised if the Honourable Mr. Comey did not know that his former GOP supporters would throw him under the rump bus.

He is the main reason Hillary lost. His actions decided the election. Sure there is Russia sabotage, then misogyny but Comey is the single reason why we are here right now. FUCK HIM!!!!!!!!!!

I really think he must be going through some sort of personal existential crisis, to which we are all forced to bear witness as he works through the struggles.

I really hope you figure it out, James.

...Democratic or Republican, who espouses the values of integrity, ethics and professional objectivity in today's environment. We need Americans of all stripes to stand with us during the crisis we face. For me, that means overlooking some instances where people might have infuriated me. I will work with them until (and unless) there is a betrayal. If there is a betrayal, they will get no quarter from me.

Tho it was rumored for decades, the press in those "polite" years basically ignored the story. K.S., his driver and personal secretary wrote a book about it.
