Michelle Obama on sexual misconduct allegations: I'm 'sick'

Source: The Hill

BY MAX GREENWOOD - 11/18/17 03:57 PM EST

Former First Lady Michelle Obama said this week that the recent slew of sexual misconduct allegations that have come to light make her "sick," and urged men to do more to combat harassment and assault.

“I can’t tell you how sick it makes me, the more I see the uncovering of the truth that all us women know has been out there, that there is an ugliness there," she said during a Thursday night speech in Hartford, Conn., according to People.

“If we want young women to be strong and have voices and advocate for themselves, then we have to realize how much work we have to do,’’ Obama added. “And I’m talking to the men out there, who cannot be innocent bystanders and complacent…watching this happen.”

Obama also said that her success in life is due to the fact that she was "loved and nurtured and invested [in]," according to People.

she chooses to speak. We love Barrack but we think Michelle is the smarter one. I wish she could have more power than just being the former FLOTUS. At least she is still able to speak out a true voice of reason. I am proud of Barracks work in the elections earlier this month. Its good we finally have a former President who wields some good influence after his terms were over. Jimmy Carter is the only one who even gets close.

I'm satisfied both of them will continue to serve the public all their lives, and do so unselfishly.

It's a shame Democrats don't have a bully pulpit (and a cable news channel) we can be better heard from.

But I do feel sorry for Melania, she seems genuinely uncomfortable speaking and I am sure someone in the White House basket of deplorables wrote her words for her. She did make some good points about bullying in another speech. Too bad the Donald's personality totally swamped any possible credibility she has.

I am glad that the press has been able to leave Baron alone. Poor kid. What a stupid name he got saddled with.
