TAMPA, Fla. Members of a Florida church congregation will not turn the other cheek to those who might wish them harm.
They are armed and ready to retaliate.
. . .
The sign continues with a deadly warning: We are heavily armed any attempt will be dealt with deadly force. Yes we are a church and we will protect our people.
It is signed by The Pastors.

(57,063 posts)of a morgue and at least the same kind of process for owning weapons as there is for having a driver's license at least .....
I used to be a I should be allowed to own any kind of weapon I want sort of person but I've finally seen the light. This has nothing to do the 2nd amendment, this is a public health and safety issue. I now stop just short of an outright gun ban. Just barely short.

(3,959 posts)operate a vehicle on public streets, but aren't necessary on private property. Some states have no minimum age for owning a vehicle. Demonstrating a need for a license isn't a prerequisite and there is no waiting period or FBI background check. They are usually are available at age 16 and learners' permits allow even younger drivers to drive in public under supervision. Unrestricted licenses are valid across state lines. Felons and misdemeanor domestic abusers are eligible for licenses. Treating firearms like vehicles would generally apply fewer restrictions.

Defending life isn't retaliation...we should all refuse to be willing victims, and being ready isn't a bad thing.

(810 posts)their precious sign will do absolutely nothing.
An assailant armed with his or her semi-automatic weapon of choice (AR-15s seem to be the most popular) would be able to empty an entire magazine into the congregation before the armed church-goers would be able to figure out what was going on.
I wonder if there are any lunatics out there that would consider the wording on the sign as a challenge.

(1,749 posts)good guy with a gun myth.
As already correctly noted: a determined attacker would be able to kill several victims before a good guy could act.
And most people who carry a gun have no idea how to use a gun in an emergency.
Citizens have the right to carry concealed firearms pursuant to lawful self-defense, not act in the capacity of law enforcement, or to otherwise deter crime.

(81,426 posts)On July 10, 2017, the last day of the meetings at the DAR, Drs. Rodney and Adonica were given the opportunity to spend the day at the White House. With a group of twenty-five others, they were invited into the Oval Office to visit President Trump. It was a surreal and humbling moment. They saw Protestant, Evangelical, and Pentecostal leaders coming together with the common purpose to pray for the President of the United States of America. President Trump was open to and sincerely welcomed their prayers.
While standing in the Oval Office, Dr. Rodney was asked to pray for President Trump. He prayed for his protection, for godly wisdom to be his portion, and that the wicked would be cut off and rooted out. It wasnt a long prayer; it was a fervent and heartfelt one. Once Dr. Rodney left the Oval Office, he successfully launched a 24/7 prayer initiative for President Trump.
With a passion for souls and a passion to revive and mobilize the Body of Christ, Drs. Rodney and Adonica have conducted soul-winning efforts throughout fifty-seven nations with Good News campaigns, R.M.I. Revivals, and the Great Awakening Tours. As a result, over 17,755,700 precious people have come to Christ and tens of thousands of believers have been revived and mobilized to preach the Gospel of Jesus Christ.
