Mueller Requests Wide Ranging Documents From DOJ

Source: ABC

Special Counsel Robert Mueller's team investigating whether President Donald Trump sought to obstruct a federal inquiry into connections between his presidential campaign and Russian operatives has now directed the Justice Department to turn over a broad array of documents, ABC News has learned.

In particular, Mueller's investigators are keen to obtain emails related to the firing of FBI Director James Comey and the earlier decision of Attorney General Jeff Sessions to recuse himself from the entire matter, according to a source who has not seen the specific request but was told about it.

Some Democrats accused Sessions of deliberately lying to lawmakers, though Sessions has vehemently denied the charge, citing a memory lapse generated in part by the "chaos" of the campaign.

During a House hearing Wednesday, Sessions said he now remembers dismissing the adviser's proposal during the meeting last year.

How many times is USAG allowed to provide erroneous accounts of events - before he is impeached (forced to resign)?

Papadopoulos has testified he discussed issues with Trump and Sessions; which - if true - means Jeff Sessions committed perjury - thrice!

... there will be a lot of scrambling, a lot of talks behind closed doors. Mueller will want to find out how much is Sessions willing to tell and how much will he keep to himself.

I thought the next target was going to be Flynn. What happened to that?

... he wants to keep Trump's lawyers guessing about what he already has.

Sometimes the FBI investigators might leak something but that's without Mueller's approval. I don't think even the FBI are allowed to do that on this case. It's too important and the case has to be airtight when it gets to court.

We can be sure of this: Mueller has a lot more than he's telling us, and he knows how to use it to get the final result.

Mueller is running a tight ship.

Once in a while he might strategically allow something to get out, but I am confident it's planned and legal.

shooting fish in a barrel. He and his son are screwed, so there's no reason to offer them any incentive for their testimony. They can come back for Flynn anytime. Mueller is aiming at the big fish now, and I don't believe he'll have much of a problem getting what he needs to put them away. The Trump cabal is just not that smart, and they left a trail a blind bloodhound without a nose could follow.

I agree that Flynn's going down. He doesn't have a leg to stand on, defense-wise. But he'll probably talk to save his son from going to jail. Don't you think?

I'm guessing Mueller is saving Flynn's trial for later because he's got so much on his plate right now. I agree with you that none of these guys are very smart. Especially Trump. I don't think Trump ever believed he'd be elected, and then it was too late to go back and cover his tracks. It never occurred to him that he would have to. He's been getting away with this kind of shit his entire life.

...once he sees the mountain of evidence that Mueller has against him.

There will be so many trials coming up that Mueller now has a very full plate. Any time he can get somebody to plead guilty (presumably to a lesser charge) it's gonna allow more time for the Big Orange Cheese.

I know that he is working meticulously, but each day that goes by Trump does more damage to this country. I don't think we will ever recover from his presidency if he stays in office for the full term.

The only caveat is about evidence not yet turned over.
If they get the shredders working weekend-overtime like that criminal Cheney, it'll leave gaps that are obvious but incomplete.

we all will be watching it fall. Obstruction of Justice, possible Treason, Money laundering, and the list goes on.

Robert Mueller is taking his time, putting together a case against the Trump Campaign and the man himself that is air tight, and convincing, and will be hard for Trump's attorneys to defend. Not even the Supreme Court will be able to intercede here because that is NOT their job.

Donald Trump and those around him are in deep shit regarding Russia. If anything, Robert Mueller will not cow tow to anyone in the Administration. Trump fires him after new indictments come forth, all hell will break loose and Congress WILL BE FORCED to step in because the evidence against Trump will be solid and damaging.

A Constitutional crisis? Don't get me started.
