The wife of Raiders head coach Jack Del Rio has expressed her displeasure with President Trump, writing on Twitter that she now has second thoughts about having voted for the president last year.
President Trump I voted for you, which I now regret, Linda Del Rio tweeted. Football is a powerful platform - heres the charitable work we did in Mexico City #NFLproud. She posted several pictures with that tweet of work the Jack Del Rio Foundation did over the weekend while in Mexico.
Del Rios tweet was posted hours after the president took Raiders running back Marshawn Lynch to task on social media for apparently sitting for the U.S. national anthem and standing for Mexicos during Sundays Raiders-Patriots game in Mexico City.
On Twitter, the president wrote:
Marshawn Lynch of the NFLs Oakland Raiders stands for the Mexican Anthem and sits down to boos for our National Anthem. Great disrespect! Next time NFL should suspend him for remainder of season. Attendance and ratings way down.

Although I'm glad she regrets her vote it would have been nice if she was a more informed voter. As it stands now she is still part of the problem.

(81,220 posts)But then again, listening to the weasel-ass excuses offered by the female Alabama governor who claims she believes the women accusing Roy Moore of being a sexual predator (especially predator of young teenage girls), and then declaring she's gonna vote for him anyway, I guess that's where we are now.

(2,574 posts)who regret voting for Trump - glad you see the light, but the only way to make amends is to vote for the Democrat in the future - from president to senator to house rep to state and county officials to local elections. I love it when a former Republican rejects what they have finally become or has a real change of heart regarding the basic ideology of the party. But if you are simply another self-interested 1% and you find him too vulgar or too naked in his grasping for power and money, or decide that he has come out against your own private cause or interest, then your regret is less than worthless. Trump is simply an embodiment of the current Republican Party,

(21,506 posts)No other reason it seems. Glad she is coming to her senses as far as Trump but in typical winger fashion it is for selfish reasons.

(11,097 posts)I get it - we can't understand how people voted for Trump. However, the 2016 election is over. The goal must be to convince people not to repeat that mistake. The penitent must be accepted with open arms.
