AP source: Authorities believe border agent may have fallen

DALLAS (AP) — Investigators believe a border patrol agent who died in West Texas after suffering extensive injuries to his head and body may have fallen down a 14-foot (4-meter) culvert, and his partner, who radioed for help, has no memory of what happened, according to a U.S. official with knowledge of the investigation.

FBI spokeswoman Jeanette Harper said in a statement Monday that both agents were found late Saturday night in a culvert near Van Horn and that both had traumatic head injuries. Harper said Rogelio Martinez died early Sunday. The FBI is leading the investigation and results of his autopsy are pending.

Another U.S. official, who was briefed on the investigation but is not authorized to speak publicly and spoke on condition of anonymity, said Monday that Martinez was found at the bottom of the culvert and that investigators believe he may have fallen. The official said it happened after dark in an area that’s known for drug activity and where agents often look for drugs in culverts.

Authorities haven’t offered an official explanation of what happened to Martinez and his partner, and a border patrol supervisor said reports that the agents were attacked are “speculation.”

grave danger to the nation to not be able to pause and think.

The rush to politicize a tragedy is too strong in this vile demon.

Didn't the MSM also leap to this conclusion merely because the mother of all liars said so? Have they no ability to fact check or just do not care anymore in the rush to keep up with the internet speculations daily posing as facts?

Loser45, care to retract or will you rush to grab your Cone of Silence...and a cheeseburger?

That's what the border needs, more lethal fall hazards.

Nov 2017

1. They get to the site and hear something coming from the culvert, they go to check out the noise, it's dark and they lose their footing and fall!

2. They get to the site and are walking near the edge and Martinez losses his footing, his partner reaches to grab him, but weight and momentum carry both of them over the edge, and they fall!

3. They arrive on site and encounter traffickers, an altercation ensues and both agents end up falling into the culvert!

The agents fought and both fell. Amnesia is rare as hell so the survivor is lying either to cover up his attempt at murder or just as part of a routine cover up.

has had such aggression issues - one guy smashed his supervisor up against the wall and tried to strangle him - during a meeting. Another guy was harassed and threatened for testifying that they did not have anything to do but were required to "work" overtime. Among other things, an agent sat in front of his home at all times.
I do not trust any of them.

the events surrounding a head injury. I had a concussion and experienced that. I remembered what happened later, but only bits of it.

My brother sustained serious head injuries in a car accident. He has never remembered the accident.

Woke up in a hospital later that night
Was told what happened
To this day I have no memory of the event

You should watch what you put out as blanket statements without something to back it up
