European powers plan Thursday to reiterate that they remain committed to the Iran nuclear deal, Reuters reported.
On Thursday, the foreign ministers of Britain, Germany and France, and Irans Mohammad Javad Zarif are planning to meet with EUs top diplomat Federica Mogherini. During the meeting, the European powers that helped negotiate the deal will reaffirm to Iran their commitment to it.
One diplomat told Reuters the aim is to "send a message to Washington that Iran is complying and that it is better to have the nuclear agreement than to isolate Tehran."
President Trump must decide by the end of the week whether he will re-certify the deal. Re-certification indicates Iran is living up to its side of the deal to limit its nuclear activities in exchange for fewer sanctions by the U.S. and other countries.
