At Least 14 Fox Personalities Have Headlined GOP Fundraisers Since Trump Elected

Fox News’ and Fox Business’ incestuous relationship with the Republican Party does not end with its propaganda. Quite a few of the network’s big names actively help Republican organizations to fundraise – and, of course, they get paid very well for their side efforts.

A deep dive by Media Matters found that at least 14 Fox hosts and contributors went this extra Republican-friendly mile. It’s not only very lucrative for the Fox personalities but their Fox affiliations are used as a selling point for the GOP events. For example, the Washington State Republican Party posted this on Facebook as a promotion for its annual dinner featuring host Greg Gutfeld as the keynote speaker :

In turn, Fox News personalities seem to earn their suppers, so to speak. According to Media Matters, a National Republican Congressional Committee dinner keynoted by Sean Hannity in 2010 raised over $7 million.

In addition to Gutfeld, 13 other Fox names were found headlining Republican fundraisers in the past year: hosts Lou Dobbs, Pete Hegseth, Laura Ingraham and Jeanine Pirro. The contributors are John Bolton, David Bossie, Rachel Campos-Duffy, Jason Chaffetz, Sebastian Gorka, Mike Huckabee, Alveda King, Ed Rollins, Karl Rove, and Allen West. ..................

The single-most important thing we could do for our country would be to expose and limit propaganda in media in our own country, in my opinion. In my imaginings, it would take C-SPAN type coverage of a public national self-examination of how we got here, with witnesses testifying to the money trail and to the plot involved.

An amendment that guaranteed the right of Americans freedom from being propagandized would be helpful. Then legislation establishing a government agency that would oversee the neutrality of that kind of broadcast presentation.

An educational process that would expose the techniques and the history, and how it impacted American society.

Tricky given all the first amendment issues involved, but broadcast media (especially television and film) are uniquely powerful as a propagandizing tool.

The UK and some other countries have models that may help us, ways to ensure free speech and freedom from propaganda.

Okay, there you have my wish list of ways to move our country back on track towards a more perfect union and hopefully safeguard us against the oligarchs and fascism. Unvetted and subject to discussion and improvement and inspection for hidden fatal flaws.
