Governor Greitens admits to extramarital affair
Source: KMOV TV
ST. LOUIS (KMOV.com) -- Governor Eric Greitens on Wednesday night confirmed to News 4 he had an extramarital affair, an admission a months-long News 4 investigation prompted.
In a recording obtained by News 4, a woman says she had a sexual encounter with Missouri Gov. Eric Greitens and that he tried to blackmail her to keep the encounter quiet.
The details were provided to News 4 by the womans ex-husband, claiming the sexual relationship happened between his now ex-wife and Greitens in March 2015. News 4 is not naming the woman and she has not made an on-the-record comment about the story.
According to the ex-husband, the recording was made just days after Greitens and the womans first sexual encounter. And also that Greitens took a photograph during the encounter to use as blackmail according to the ex-husband.

I gotta know who this woman is. There cant be that many women in this state that would be subject to being a blackmail threat this way. Does she hold a high level position? Is she very wealthy? What was he after? Just her silence, or something more?
What the actual hell?

Then abortion has its place.
How many times have we heard about R's doing that, as well as what you mentioned?

No surprise that guys like that are in a political party that has a history of killing and harming the American public, via puke policies such as destroying regulations controlling pollution, the attempts to wreck the ACA, and the recent tax heist.
Sociopaths.

Missouri Gov. Eric Greitens on Wednesday night admitted that he was unfaithful to his wife Sheena in 2015.
The 43-year-old Republican lawmaker's admission was inspired by local TV station KMOV's report Wednesday night, in which the ex-husband of the alleged mistress was interviewed and provided to the station secretly-taped recordings of his ex-wife detailing when and where she met Greitens. The identity of the ex-husband and woman were not revealed by the station. The station reports the woman declined comment.
The admission also came hours after Greitens, a former Navy SEAL, delivered his annual State of the State address in Jefferson City, Missouri.
"A few years ago, before Eric was elected Governor, there was a time when he was unfaithful in our marriage," the Greitens said in a joint statement. "This was a deeply personal mistake. Eric took responsibility, and we dealt with this together honestly and privately."

(112,085 posts)Did Greitens take any responsibility breaking up the marriage of the other couple? Was there any financial settlement so that the affair was swept under the carpet? There are plenty of questions that need to be answered before I'll accept that Greitens has taken responsibility.

The governor's race was between a Democratic AG who was a Republican prosecutor years ago and a dude who never finished his Navy Seal training but claims it as experience who an as GOP but who was once a Dem. (His family is staunchly Dem to this day.)

(29,673 posts)The gubernatorial election was insane.
Missouri did produce two upcoming leaders of their respective parties out of 2016: Greitens for the HOP and Jason Kander for the Democrats.
I love Kander and I'm hoping he runs for governor in 2020. I think he'd beat Greitens, though I've always thought he was a one and done. Greitens has owned the domain Greitens for President for several years.

(15,273 posts)reports that news organizations have had both the woman's husband's story and the tape recording for awhile, but did not publish the account because the woman refused to be interviewed. They apparently now regret that decision.
Reporters apparently got on the trail by the husband's posting on social media that Greitens was a "homewrecker".
Out here in western PA, Tim Murphy was forced to resign from Congress for less (affair, being caught telling g/f to have an abortion when they thought she was pregnant) by the social conservatives. I don't see Greitens being able to survive affair + kinky sex + blackmail.
