White House Press Secretary Sarah Sanders said claims that President Donald Trump is racist are outrageous, citing his success as a public figure and his star turn on television as a host on NBCs reality show The Apprentice.
Frankly, if the critics of the president were who he said he was, why did NBC give him a show for a decade on TV? Sanders said Tuesday.
Trump has been under fire after denigrating immigrants from Africa and Haiti in a meeting with lawmakers last week. The president defended himself on Sunday, telling reporters as he entered his West Palm Beach golf club that he was the least racist person you have ever interviewed.
Sanders was responding to Senator Chuck Schumer, the Senate Democratic leader, who said Monday on CBSs Late Show that Trump could prove he was not a racist by signing legislation protecting from deportation undocumented immigrants who were brought to the U.S. by their parents as minors. Democrats and Republicans have been in negotiations over what to do about a temporary Obama administration policy -- Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals, or DACA -- since Trump moved to end the protections last year.

(133 posts)The Apprentice library is supposedly home to Trump saying damnably obscene things about races. Too bad the owner of those tapes is a Trumpster we might get a hold of some real proof.

Mark Burnett was inspired by "The Art of the Deal" when he was selling jeans in Venice CA. He promised himself if he ever got the chance he'd pay back Trump in some way. BTW - that show was in the top 10 it's first season and slowly slid down the ratings until it wasn't even in the top 100.

I do remember when we had a black POTUS and he was questioning his birth place though. Not racist though, right?

NBC has revealed that the network has severed ties with Donald Trump after the Republican presidential candidate made controversial remarks about Mexicans and immigration. "At NBC, respect and dignity for all people are cornerstones of our values," the company said in a statement. "Due to the recent derogatory statements by Donald Trump regarding immigrants, NBCUniversal is ending its business relationship with Mr. Trump."
NBC will continue to air episodes of the Trump-hosted reality competition series The Apprentice and Celebrity Apprentice, however the real estate scion will no longer feature on the show. Trump previously revealed he would step away from Celebrity Apprentice to pursue a White House run, but NBC is now saying "You're fired," permanently.

(9,291 posts)and it was all scripted. If he didn't take the job, they would have found another, not working too hard CEO to take his place. Real CEO's wouldn't have the time to do that silly show. Trump didn't really own a business, just his name, so he had plenty of time.
I'm sure they would have loved someone like Richard Branson, but that wasn't going to happen.
