Paul Ryan's latest bargaining CHIP

Source: Axios

House Republican leaders last night unveiled their latest bid to keep the federal government open past Friday. It would fund the federal government for one month.

If this agreement can pass, health care seems like the key to passing it — the children's health program CHIP to peel off just enough Democrats, especially in the Senate; and delays in ACA taxes to help keep just enough conservatives from jumping ship.

Be smart: Conservatives don't love this bill because it doesn't include as much defense spending as they wanted; Democrats largely don't like it because it would only last a month and doesn't include an immigration deal.

What it does include: A 6-year extension of the Children’s Health Insurance Program

2. It's vile that the CHIP & DACA were dropped, just so they could be used to negotiate.

Now if the Dems say no to this, to take a stand on DACA, they will be letting little children go without health insurance.

Democratic leadership will have to commit to covering for the Congressional RWNJ's and the NJ in the White House who'll happily shutdown the government, but we will win some concessions.

DACA is in courts now, and we have February and March to work out at the very least DACA.

Just as Republican intransigence took the blame for shutdowns under Obama, I'm certain the R's and the "so-called liberal media" will persuade a lot of pissed-off people Democrats will be responsible this shutdown. If you watch cable news, you can see the narrative already!

Two of my biggest soap boxes are CHIP and DACA. I am a very vocal advocate for children and programs that will protect them. However, I do not respond well to blackmail and that is exactly what Paul Ryan is proposing. RW scumbag!!!

shut the government down........................the republicans own this, end of story.

For the last 6 + years this country has had nothing but "temporary" spending, jumping from one item to another just to use the public as a gambit to encourage these right wing ayn rand racists fuck heads.

Like this eddie munster POS, yes I said the word he is a PIECE OF SHIT, to basically attack one group from another group, while this asshole, that makes $223,000 a year fucking people, just so that he can get in front of podium and lay blame on a party, that did not create this mess-----------------------him and "his" party and corporate assholes created this mess.

When democrats controlled the house from 1960's through the 1980's there were no stop gap spending, the spending went for two to four years

And let's not forget, that this ayn rand fuck head got money from Russian backers to fund ads in Florida against democrats, so this complacent POS wants to use children as bargaining chip,..........don't despots use this mentality ..........

Here lets go back and see how a traitor uses money/ tactics from a foreign power to take down candidates................with this asshole fingerprints all over on this ...............he is the speaker of the traitor supporting party called the republicans, and he is all in on using "dirty tricks"

Does anyone know how much the country has spent on just treason yet......................

and daca and then in negotiations, they dangle them in-front of democrats to get their sick agenda past. It so stupid. At the end of the day the democrats get nothing while to republicans keep on robbing the country. When Trump agreed to the new daca bill and Kevin McCarthy shouted up "no mr president" as it would have removed one of their main bargaining chips. I'm not sure the Democratic leadership know whats going on here, which it is in itself pretty worrying.
