Trump requested credit for pushing North, South Korea to talk: report

Source: The Hill

BY BRETT SAMUELS - 01/21/18 11:55 AM EST

President Trump asked South Korean President Moon Jae-in to publicly give him credit for fostering peace talks between North Korea and Seoul, The Washington Post reported Saturday.

Trump reportedly made the request during a phone call with the South Korean leader on Jan. 4, just days after North Korean leader Kim Jong Un announced he’d be open to negotiations.

Trump took to Twitter that night to take credit for the talks, saying he'd been “firm, strong and willing to commit our total ‘might’ against the North."

Roughly a week later, Trump said in a follow-up phone call with the South Korean leader that he’d be open to direct talks with North Korea. Trump has in recent weeks argued that additional sanctions his administration imposed on North Korea led to Kim's openness to peace talks.

being reported that he DID in fact have some credit for the ROK and DPRK talking !!

BTW - The name 1-A sucks and as does that loud mouth, self-centered blowhard joshua johnson .
I feel like I'm being bludgeoned to death with a hammer when he speaks. 95% of the time I just change the station..

That show is now as bad as the woman's voice who does almost all the ads for WXXI in Rochester, NY.

wants to make sure ALL other countries are not as stupid as the US, electing a clown as president. These are strange times we live in, with tRump in the WH. Was Jared too busy covering his money laundering business to go speak to N. Korea?

I guess Trump would demand thanks for helping unify world opinion against the U.S. I guess we should thank Hitler for united Russia, the U.S., and Europe against Germany.

12. The answer is so simple, but it requires a map of the area..

North Korea is indeed close to what two countries? Look at a map..but I will explain...

North Korea borders on China and has a very small border with Russia. but a major city in that area with a more than a million people is about 50 miles from the North Korean border. take a look..

So. It is in China and Russia's best interest not to have a "war" not far from them.. I suspect the nut in North Korea needs help from Russia and China. ..economic help... from time to time.

So, if that nut wants help from his "neighbors" than maybe his "neighbors" could convince him to shut the fuck up, and talk to with South Korea and work something out. In a moment I will post a link to a map of North Korea. Please take a look at the map. (click on the map after it appears, and you will see the entire area)

https://www.google.com/search?sourceid=navclient&ie=UTF-8&rlz=1T4GGNI_enUS494US495&q=map+of+north+korea

Now, if you look at the map, you will see that China is on the border, and Valdivostok (very large Russian city) is about 50 miles from the Korean border. So it really is in, China, Russia, North Korea, and South Korea best interest not to have a "war" in that area.

Trump has nothing to do with the politics in that area.. He is just to stupid to know the truth. And although we have very strong connections with South Korea, the essence of that war (if there is one) will be 7000 miles from the U.S. It would be very close to China and Russia. So it is in their direct interest to get that nut, to shut the fuck up and negotiate with their neighbors to the south, South Korea.

Trump has no more right to get any credit for starting negotiations in that area, than he has a right to say that he was responsible for the snow today in Alaska. It is that simple.

who cant be counted on to do the right or sane or traditional thing and that this has something to do with talks.

But no, after reading your post the reason (and being brought back to earth because I read it) for the talks are in spite of him, not because of him and those with the most to lose are making this happen for obvious reasons.

that's what this tit for tat game has been all about.

tRump and his room full of dopes where too stupid to realize this.

and now, it appears as if NK got exactly what they wanted: a seat at the negotiations table without the interference of the U.S.

game. set. match.
