Jackman fires town manager who promotes racial segregation
Source: Bangor Daily News
JACKMAN, Maine The Jackman Select Board voted unanimously on Tuesday morning to fire the town manager, whose support of racial segregation and condemnation of Islam put the town in what most locals saw as an unflattering light.
Town manager Tom Kawczynski was dismissed four days after the Bangor Daily News reported that he is the founder and leader of New Albion, a pro-white organization that actively opposes people from different cultures coming to northern New England.
The roughly 45 Jackman residents who crowded into their town hall early Tuesday greeted Kawczynskis ouster as welcome news. One woman let out a small cheer.
Jackman is great again, said James Waycott, 43, who recently became a full-time town resident after having long spent summers there.

(978 posts)I heard this on NPR on my way into work and was flabbergasted to hear that anything like this would happen in a place like Jackman. Not a lot of racial bias here, only unease with people who weren't born and raised in the area, in which case it'll take you about 10 years to be accepted by the local community after you move there.

The town might believe they have cleansed the rot, but the manager was right out in the open so some people did know about his fringe views and were tolerant by their silence. The rot will continue festering and it will probably return.
