FBI Director: We Reported To WH Multiple Times On Porter Before Ouster
Source: TPM

FBI Director Christopher Wray told senators Tuesday that the FBI submitted reports on Rob Porter multiple times before the former White House staffer left the administration last week amid allegations of domestic violence.
..........................................
Was the White House informed this could affect his security clearance? Sen. Ron Wyden (D-OR) asked Wray at a hearing of the Senate Intelligence Committee Tuesday, referring to Porters lack of a security clearance during his time at the White House.
...............................................
What I can tell you is that the FBI submitted a partial report on the investigation in question in March, and then a completed background investigation in late July, Wray continued. Soon thereafter we received requests for follow-up inquiry and we did the follow-up and provided that information in November. And then we administratively closed the file in January.
And then earlier this month we received some additional information and we passed that on as well, he added.

Rob Porter Background Investigation...
Sarah Sanders: It was ongoing, hadnt been completed.
FBI Director Wray: We administratively CLOSED THE FILE in January.
In other words, the White House is covering up domestic violence AND Trumps conspiracy with Russia.

(70,494 posts)AKA the white house read the "dirt" on Porter, asked for more info, and still kept him on?
Fred Sanders
(23,946 posts)This one has legs only because Shitler refuses to mouth the words of concern he seems incapable of spewing from his pinhole pie hole.
Botany
(70,494 posts)That puts the ball squarely into the White House's court because that tells me that
the White House was told a long time ago about Porter's abuse and either
A) Trump was told and he did not care
2) The White House was told about Porter and a person or persons did not
pass the information onto Trump.
Fred Sanders
(23,946 posts)burned it all on this. But for Shitler it is loyalty over credibility.

(8,282 posts)without a security clearance. This WH is just making shit up everyday to cover their ignorance and incompetence.
And the GOP in Congress just doesn't give AF.

(8,652 posts)That's the key line. It was completed in July and the Trump administration was told that Porter could not receive permanent clearance.
"Soon thereafter we received requests for a follow-up investigation."
I take that to mean that the Trump administration knew in July Rob Porter could not pass an FBI background investigation. They tried to get a different outcome by asking for a "Mulligan"

The testimony of FBI Director Wray directly contradicts both @PressSec & @RajShah45. So did both Sanders and Shah decide independently to lie to the American people? Or did someone higher up in the White House tell them a lie that they then repeated?

Wray just contradicted WH timeline on Porter saying FBI completed background investigation in late July. WH spox Shah said last week background investigation was ongoing.

Dear @realDonaldTrump: In light of your statements defending and praising Rob Porter, you should read this article by Colbie Holderness. (If it's too long to read for you, have someone summarize it).
