Empire State building to go dark in honor of Florida shooting victims

The Empire State Building will go dark Wednesday night to honor the victims of last week’s deadly shooting at a Florida high school.

The building will be lit in darkness and its spire will display a rotating “orange halo” to honor the victims of the shooting, according to the building’s website.

The display will be similar to how the building was lit following the deadly mass shooting at a Las Vegas music festival in October.

The building has previously gone dark to honor those killed in a terror attack in New York City in November.

1. A lot of people, even New Yorkers themselves,

don't realize that that building routinely changes its lights and colors for different holidays, events, etc like St Patrick's Day, July 4th. I always looked forward to seeing which color/light display they would use while I lived there.
