Lawmakers fear Russian influence on energy markets

Source: The Hill

BY MIRANDA GREEN AND ALI BRELAND - 03/04/18 09:00 AM EST

Lawmakers are expressing concerns following a new House committee report detailing how Russians attempted to used social media platforms to manipulate U.S. energy markets.

It’s the first acknowledgment from politicians that such websites were used to influence U.S. affairs outside political and social discourse.

“I’m shocked,” Senate Intelligence Committee Chairman Richard Burr (R-N.C.) said on Thursday after the House Science Committee released its findings.

“Russia is continuing to extend its digital tentacles into every aspect of American life, it is absolutely chilling and profoundly dangerous to our future,” said Sen. Richard Blumenthal (D-Conn.).

1. What's "dangerous" and "chilling" is that the Republicans in power do nothing.

Until they start ending every sentence with impeachment so we can have new leadership, their words mean nothing. The Parkland kids are right about their parent's generation. They're all cowards and they're f'ing up the world for generations to come.

and it's become clear how well organized and deep putin's infiltration has been. Who doubts that he has dug up dirt and has files on EVERY GOPeePee congressperson? Dems too, but the pukes are the ones overtly doing his bidding, by taking no action to stop russian manipulation of our elections. He's got something on enough of the GOPeePee leadership to keep them in line.

5. What does it take for someone to become a traitor to his country?

A carrot and a stick. Money is the carrot. Dirt is the stick. They are clearly traitors and they know if they ever get out of line, the money will stop and their treason will be exposed. Yes, this is chilling and dangerous! It is profoundly sad that a bunch of teenagers have more courage than the entire Republican congress put together.
