Ex-CIA director to Trump: Accusation against Obama admin shows your 'paranoia'

Source: The Hill

BY JACQUELINE THOMSEN - 03/05/18 11:36 AM EST

Former CIA director John Brennan hit back at President Trump for accusing the Obama administration of investigating his campaign in an effort to help Hillary Clinton, saying it exhibited Trump’s “paranoia” about special counsel Robert Mueller’s investigation.

Brennan, a frequent critic of Trump, led the CIA when a declassified report from the CIA and other U.S. intelligence agencies was released that said Russia created an influence campaign aimed at interfering in the 2016 election.

Trump in November called Brennan and other intelligence leaders “political hacks” and the investigation into Russian election interference “a pure hit job.”

Trump has similarly attacked Mueller's probe into Russian election interference, repeatedly labeling it a "witch hunt."

"Obama Administration start an investigation into the Trump Campaign" and "Obama did NOTHING about Russian meddling."

Both can't be true.

It's a classic tactic of Obama opponents where they claim he is a maniacal strongman and a feckless wimp all at the same time.

Most people didn't know what the hell a socialist was, but they figured if it was the opposite of what Bush was doing, it couldn't be that bad.

Then Obama turned out to be about as socialist as Bill Clinton.

Ironically, deploying the socialist smear prematurely left them defenseless less when Bernie, an actual socialist, ran eight years later.

"Socialist? They said that about Obama too, and it didn't turn out to be any big deal."

Because that's kind of a YUGE thing, and instead of saber-rattling the Kremlin, tRump naturally attacked Alec Baldwin. Excuse me, AleX Baldwin.

And the Trumpsters yawned...

This tweet is a great example of your paranoia, constant misrepresentation of the facts, and increased anxiety and panic (rightly so) about the Mueller investigation. When will those in Congress and the 30 percent of Americans who still support you realize you are a charlatan?

I had the same problem with Baby Bush. Whatever people said about him wasn't bad enough.

However, he did hire sort of competent (if evil) people to do his evil bidding and he could read a teleprompter and stick to talking points fairly well.

With Bush, I was truly worried about our democracy and my personal safety because of what his administration might do on purpose.

With Trump, what he might do on accident or on a whim is almost a bigger concern.
