Pelosi after 'RuPaul's Drag Race': I think politicians could learn from drag queens

Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) said after appearing on “RuPaul’s Drag Race” that she believes politicians could learn authenticity from drag queens.

“This idea of people believing in themselves, being themselves, taking pride in themselves, is not just a lesson for politicians but for everyone in the country. And that’s why I was so excited and couldn’t resist being on the show,” Pelosi told The Hollywood Reporter.

Pelosi recently filmed her appearance as a guest on the ongoing season of “RuPaul’s Drag Race: All Stars.” She agreed to go on the show in solidarity with the LGBT community as the Trump administration rolls back certain protections.

The episode featuring Pelosi will air Thursday night on VH1. She reportedly tells contestants about the importance of being true to oneself and voting.
