140 House Dems urge Trump to impose Russia sanctions

Source: The HILL

.
A group of 140 House Democrats on Monday wrote to President Trump to urge him to impose sanctions on Russia in response to its interference campaign in the 2016 election.

"Your actions over the last year have shown that you will constantly excuse President [Vladimir] Putin and deny his well established assistance to your campaign in 2016," the letter states.

"With this latest action, you are ignoring the law and the prerogatives of a coequal branch of government and letting Russia know you will do nothing to stop additional interference in our elections," it continues.

Rep. Eliot Engel (D-N.Y.), the ranking Democrat on the House Foreign Affairs Committee, led Democrats in the letter in calling for Trump to implement sanctions that Congress overwhelmingly approved last year.

The current GOP is the worst thing that has ever happened to the U.S.

for more anti-Trump/GOP ads for the mid-term elections, maybe? Get him on record refusing to implement the lawfully mandated sanctions Congress enacted last year. Those Representatives tying their coat-tails to Trump would have a tough time explaining this.

I don't know that it would make a difference though. From what I've read Trumptards think Putin is a really great guy too, just like their "president". They love the way Putin assassinates or imprisons his political foes, and wish out loud that Trump should have those same powers in our country. These people are absolutely insane.

The President does not have the choice to ignore a law and to fail to execute it.

Which Democrats think not imposing sanctions and ignoring the law is a good idea?

I expect it of the Republicans.
