Vanessa Trump filed for divorce from her husband, Donald Trump Jr., on Thursday afternoon, according to multiple reports.

Vanessa filed for an uncontested proceeding with the Manhattan Supreme Court, Page Six reported. The outlet initially reported on the pairs marital problems on Wednesday, citing multiple unnamed sources who claimed the couple have been living separate lives.

Sources told the New York tabloid that friends were increasingly concerned over Trump Jr.s online behavior, including liking tweets by conspiracy theorists criticizing a teenage survivor of the Parkland, Florida, school shooting.

President Donald Trumps daughter-in-law was hospitalized in February after a Massachusetts man sent an envelope of white powder to the couples Trump Tower residence in New York City. Upon examination, the powder was discovered to be non-hazardous.

Nancy Chemtob, who previously represented Matt Lauer's wife, Annette Roque, said the "uncontested" filing did not guarantee the divorce would remain that way.

The divorce came on the same day The New York Times reported that Special Counsel Robert Mueller had served subpoenas on the Trump Organization for any internal documents related to Russia.

Chemtob said it was possible that Mueller's investigation into interference in the 2016 election played a role in the timing of the divorce.

(Vanessa) may want to distance herself as much as possible from the investigation, she said.

Other recipients were Debbie Stabenow, the Democratic U.S. senator from Michigan; Nicola Hanna, an interim U.S. attorney in California; and Michele Dauber, a Stanford University law professor who has promoted the effort to recall the judge who presided over the Brock Turner sexual assault case.
