The serial bombings have gained national attention and sparked fear in the Lone Star State.
The latest explosion occurred early Tuesday when a package bomb went off inside a FedEx distribution center near San Antonio, injuring one worker.
Police said the bombing was related to four others in the Austin area that have killed two people and injured four others over the course of three weeks.

Texas rep: Explosions 'absolutely a terrorist activity'
BY BRETT SAMUELS - 03/20/18 11:55 AM EDT
Texas Rep. Brian Babin (R) on Tuesday said the string of recent package explosions around Austin are absolutely a terrorist activity, hours after a package detonated at a FedEx facility outside of San Antonio.
We have no clue who this is, absolutely no clue. Im sure the FBI and the law enforcement agencies that are looking into this have some tips, some clues, but I havent heard anything about it, he told Fox Business Network.
Police in Austin have warned residents to remain indoors if possible as they investigate a spate of explosions. Blasts across the city in recent weeks have killed two people and injured several others.
Local law enforcement said that a package exploded earlier Tuesday morning at a FedEx distribution facility in Schertz, just outside of San Antonio. Officials would not confirm that the package was bound for Austin, but said they are confident the Schertz area was not the target.

(51 posts)Terrorism has a legal definition. So far until more is known this doesn't fit that legal definition.
BumRushDaShow
(128,434 posts)and he noted something that was new to me regarding how they "define" terrorism. And aside from the stuff we normally hear (done for "political agenda", has some kind of "manifesto" ), he said involves "two or more individuals".
Seems that way, they can use the term "lone wolf" if it's just one person doing it (-my take: unless they yell "Allahu Akbar" and then suddenly "lone wolf" goes away. ).

(37,748 posts)It also has an informal definition. So until more is known, this can indeed fit that informal definition.
Luckily, it's only a few who view all language through the purview of the courts.

(64,847 posts)Well, on the news people in Austin say yes.
Ergo, it is terrorism. Using a big word (nexus, is a big word for them) doesn't make it not terrorism.

Until more is know this isn't terrorism, it's a spree bomber until we know if it's politically motivated.

(64,847 posts)"The fight against terrorism" is a term that is quite new compared to the origins of the word.
The Japanese and Germans both used terror as a tool, and their aims were conquest, not politics, unless you want to include conquering as purely political.
It's terrorism.

She's terrified and that means there is terror extant!
