Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg will make public remarks by Thursday morning on rebuilding trust amid the ongoing controversy over abuse of the companys data by the Trump-affiliated firm Cambridge Analytica, a source familiar with the situation said.
There should be no doubt that Mark was planning on addressing this publicly, said the source, who added that Zuckerberg hasnt done so before now day six of the Cambridge Analytica controversy in an effort to fully understand the scope [of the situation] and get to the bottom of things.
No details were available on how or exactly when Zuckerberg would speak. In the past he has communicated via Facebook Live, the company's real-time video streaming product.
Facebook normally holds Friday all-company Q&A sessions for employees at its Menlo Park, Calif., headquarters, in which Zuckerberg regularly participates. While some media outlets have reported that the CEO would answer questions about Cambridge Analytica at this Friday's employee meeting, the source said it's still not entirely clear if that will happen.
