Nevada lawmaker: 'Rumor mill' says Ryan headed for exit

Rep. Mark Amodei (R-Nev.) told a local news station that there is a “rumor” that Speaker Paul Ryan (R-Wis.) will resign soon, stepping up speculation about the Speaker’s political future.

“The rumor mill is that Paul Ryan is getting ready to resign in the next 30 to 60 days and that Steve Scalise will be the new Speaker,” Amodei told Nevada Newsmakers, referring to the Majority Whip.

“Now this is interesting, because no one has talked to members on how they are going to vote," he added. "Now, maybe they have talked to all of the members but me. I don’t know, so that is the rumor mill from last week.’

Ryan’s office denied that the Speaker is heading for the exits. Ryan has said he and his wife will decide in the spring about whether he will run for reelection.

4. I had looked it up last week

and found that the Wisconsin primary for Congressional reps (and some other positions like governor I think) is in August, but I believe he has until May to file petitions to run again. So time is a-ticking.

For some reason, I am thinking he is going to bow out. He knows what's coming and the main reason for him being there - tax cuts for the rich - has been accomplished.

5. Just like to remind people, Rep. Amodei likes to be referred to as Fucking Ass.

Tattled on a highschooler recently who, in exercising his 1st Amendment rights, made a phonecall to Amodei's office pleading with lawmakers to get off their "fucking asses" and do something about gun violence. The student got suspended for hurting Rep. Fucking Ass's delicate fee-fees by saying mean words.
