Syria 'chemical attack': Russia and US in fierce row at UN
Source: BBC
The US and Russia have traded barbs at a UN Security Council meeting on the alleged chemical attack in Syria.
Russian envoy Vassily Nebenzia said the incident in Douma was staged and that US military action in response could have "grave repercussions".
US Ambassador Nikki Haley said Russia had the "blood of Syrian children" on its hands.

It's unfortunate that we have had to mistrust our own government as much as the other evil empires.
I trust our professionals who have worked hard to make this country work. I totally distrust the carpetbaggers that were installed in last election.

IF that.

(15,183 posts)Every day, every hour there's something new that boggles a mind that expects rationality and repeatibility- a scientific approach to cause and effect.
With the random spewings that come from the WH I think the predictability is almost in how unpredictable it is. There's a phrase in experimentation/statistics for this.
If you're interested in why several things may happen at the same time, I highly recommend David Hand's "The Improbability Principle: Why Coincidences, Miracles, and Rare Events Happen Every Day" While this is a good description of probability, it doesn't explain how we ended up with so many cretins in our government. Another book....

(22,768 posts)Given the history and the players, the truth in this situation is not so difficult to distinguish from the lies. Syria has been using chemical weapons on its people for a long time now, and Russia has always defended Assad no matter what. This is not war, it is crimes against humanity as defined in numerous international treaties.

(22,768 posts)Unless you think every chemical attack so far has been fake news. That is a great deal harder to believe that such attacks are in the interests of Russia and Assad. The UN and numerous apolitical NGOs have collected substantial evidence of the attacks. Assad and his Russian allies have killed 700,000 Syrians so far.

(23,929 posts)i DO however believe the "fierce row" twixt Trump and his Russian Boss regarding the matter are fake.
i also believe my post was misunderstood, which is quite possible as it was on the terse side.

(22,768 posts)fake, so I jumped to conclusions. Sorry about that. One wonders if Trump is trying to show he's his own man, and not beholden to Putin. Too little, too late.
