Iran pledges to destroy Israel within 25 years as tensions rise
Source: Yahoo News
The head of Irans army, Abdolrahim Mousavi, threatened to annihilate Israel on Saturday as tensions escalated between the two countries.
At a ceremony in Tehran, Mr Mousavi warned that any acts of war against his country would put his country on the offensive.
Hands are on the trigger and missiles are ready and will be launched at any moment that the enemy tries to carry out its sinister plot against (our) lands, Tasnim news agency quoted him as saying.
His comments came a day after the Iranian Brigadier General Hossein Salami also issued a threat and said Israel could be destroyed if tensions escalate to war.

The Iranians like to thump their chest a lot; but Isreal will always be fine. They really are their own worst enemy (with the current regime anyway).

These cracked-up Christians believe that Jesus can't return unless and until there are only 144,000 Jews living in Israel - these folks want Israel and Israelis to be decimated in a war! They call themselves Christians, yet they want millions of Jews and Arabs to die in a war in order to fulfill some New Testament prophesy!

(3,427 posts)Salami added Israel would fade away in the next 25 years despite the support it receives from the United States.
"If any war happens, it will definitely be followed by your annihilation.
Not quite the same thing as "pledging to destroy Israel within 25 years." Seems like the general was merely trying to say that acts of war by Israel against Iran would be met with a highly aggressive response -- which, in my opinion, is not a completely unreasonable thing for an Iranian general to say.

Trying to change it is a fool's errand.

Now it is not good for the Christians health to hustle the Aryan brown,
For the Christian riles, and the Aryan smiles and he weareth the Christian down;
And the end of the fight is a tombstone white with the name of the late deceased,
And the epitaph drear: A Fool lies here who tried to hustle the East.

(3,427 posts)According to the article, an Iranian general said that Israel would "fade away" in the next 25 years, and that any war would lead to its "annihilation." But Iran's foreign minister "deemed major escalation unlikely."
Nowhere in the article could I find anything close to a "pledge" by Iran to "destroy" Israel (unless, of course, war breaks out between them).

Elsewhere, the commander stressed that Israel will definitely fade away within the next 25 years despite US support for it.
Today, we can see that the criminal US (government) is making every attempt to ensure survival of the Zionist regime and strengthen its position in the region, the commander deplored.

Here is more from a local source. No matter how you parse the sentence the Iranians and IRGC voice continued commitment towards the destruction of Israel.
