Giuliani vows Trump interview will be 2-3 hours max after failing to shut down Mueller investigation

Two weeks after vowing to shut down special counsel Robert Muellers investigation, attorney and former New York Mayor Rudy Giuliani said on Wednesday that President Donald Trumps interview with investigators will be a maximum of two to three hours.
After taking a job as an attorney for the president two weeks ago, Giuliani said that he expected to be able to shut down Muellers Russian investigation within one to two weeks.
On Wednesday, Giuliani spoke to The Washington Post about the news that Mueller wants to ask Trump dozens of questions. According to reporter Robert Costa, Giuliani drew a line in the sand regarding the length of any interview.
Some people have talked about a possible 12-hour interview. If it happens, thats not going to happen, Ill tell you that. Itd be, max, two to three hours around a narrow set of questions, Giuliani reportedly said.

(713 posts)Trump and Giuliani should not set such terms. That is up to Mueller. No one is above the law. The Prosecutor should have the power to compel testimony. Trump has said that he wants to talk to Mueller, so talk. Stop hiding behind lawyers and answer for what you have done.

(343 posts)Giuliani is an ass, and a publicity hog. How old is he? Can't he just retire and go to Florida like a normal person? Instead, he wants to inject himself into this national nightmare on behalf of a vile, two bit con man that happened to win the presidency. Hope that Trump goes down in flames soon, or that Democrats take the house and start impeachment. In 2020 voters can correct this mistake if we are lucky and Trump does not promise them the moon and they fall for it AGAIN.

(21,859 posts)know better, but I think that he's just a publicity hound, wants to be in the limelight too much, and I'll bet ya...before too long, G will leave because RUMP and G getting along together? For very long? There have been other lawyers in the mix and gone already, like rats jumping off the boat.
I don't know...perhaps when G has another temper fit and spits all over the place, he'll have a heart attack or stroke, the way he's going...

If you talk with him for 12 hours, everything is both A and not A.
In three hours there might be some facts, if you believe them

Like any attorney, Mueller won't ask a question that he doesn't already know the answer to.

(56 posts)is if Trump pleads the 5th to every question. Then you could conceivably get a 12 hour interview into a 2/3 hour timeslot.
Yeah, no Rudy. No dice. Mueller will ask all the questions he wants and those Trump doesn't want to answer, he'll subpoena him to have to say, "I plead the 5th". One way or the other, Trump is GONNA speak.
