The White House on Thursday condemned rocket attacks that Israel says Iran launched overnight from its bases in Syria amid rapidly escalating tensions in the region.
We strongly support Israels right to act in self-defense, the White House said in a statement. The Iranian regimes deployment into Syria of offensive rocket and missile systems aimed at Israel is an unacceptable and highly dangerous development for the entire Middle East.
Israel and Iran have engaged in multiple rounds of attacks since President Donald Trump announced Tuesday that he would break the Iran nuclear deal.
The Israeli military said Iran had fired rockets at soldiers in the Golan Heights apparently the first time Iran has done so though all were intercepted or fell short of their targets. Israel then conducted retaliatory strikes against dozens of Iranian facilities in Syria, also taking out Syrian air defense systems.

(25,166 posts)This all seems to be choreographed by Trump and Bibi. The pulling out of the Iran Agreement. Bibi's so called evidence that Iran is cheating on the deal.
Is this all orchestrated to get us into a war by Nov 2018? Is this Trump and the Repugs plan - to hold onto power in the House and Senate? Will Trump suspend Nov Midterms if we're in a war situation?
Every day I feel more manipulated by Trump and the Repugs.

Nevermind the fact that Trump has increased drone strikes and those same useful idiots who were so vocal against Obama have been dead silent since January 2017...

For the record, it wasn't a vote for war but to give the pResident authorization to use force IF Saddam did not comply with UN inspectors, which he did.
w went to war under false pretenses.

(6,369 posts)After the disaster that was Iraq, neither Republican nor Democratic voters want to be in another war in the Middle East that costs hundreds of trillions of dollars and thousands of lives. Its one of the reasons Trumps base liked him so much, because they thought hed get us out of the Middle East for good. Going into a war with Iran would shatter his base.

(23,282 posts)... as well as Israeli administration, it's probably a "done deal", regardless of UN recognition. I don't think any recognition could be passed by the U.N.
Israel doesn't have to worry about missiles being lobbed into Israel from the heights, as long as the heights are Israeli.
