15. The school got off light

Considering they knew, they covered it up, and even after it all became public they tried to slander the victims during the sentencing hearings...

6. The taxpayers of the State of Michigan will

foot this bill. At a time when colleges and universities need support.

Male privilege comes at a very high price.

7. this might come out of their endowment also.

While they deserve to be compensated, i'm a little conflicted at how many people could have gotten their degree with that money instead.

8. The money should be paid out the pensions of MSU admin and professors...

Make people feel the cost and this stuff won't be allowed to go on....I say the same with cops...make the civil settlements come from police pensions and we would see the bad stuff they do come to an end.

10. Punish the innocent.

Now there's a great idea. The vast majority of those people probably didn't even interact with Nassar. Why should they lose their pensions because he was a child molesting scumbag? If they're guilty of covering up for him, then nail them to the wall as individuals. Collective punishment is not justice.

12. The university was found to be at fault as well as Nassar

The university was found to be at fault as well as Nassar. Not as an individual, but as an organization, and the settlement will be paid by tuition and state aid.

11. The State of Michigan was not a party to this lawsuit, the

University is responsible for paying, unless the legislature moves to put it on the taxpayers, and that won't happen, IMO.
