Nancy Pelosi issues call for "a vote to prevent gun violence now"

Source: CNN

Democratic Leader Nancy Pelosi just issued a statement on the shooting.

"This morning, our nation was heartbroken by the horrific murder of innocent children and a teacher at Santa Fe High School. All Americans grieve for those whose lives were stolen by this tragedy, and our prayers are with the families and loved ones of who have been wounded. We are all grateful to the first responders, whose courage and heroism prevented more lives from being lost," it said.

The statement continued: “#NeverAgain. Children should never have to fear for their lives in a school classroom. Millions of young people are raising their voices and bravely, eloquently insisting on action to end the gun violence epidemic. Congress must show as much courage as they have, and act now to ensure that no other community or family must endure the unthinkable horror of gun violence. Our children deserve real leadership: a vote to prevent gun violence now.”

Since after a mass shooting is not the time to politicize a tragedy or discuss any laws or changes to laws. We must wait until we don't have these tragedies before we can discuss doing anything about it.

Go Nancy

Why is Trump 'allowing' violence done to our students?

When Trump accepted the GOP nomination:

"I have a message for all of you: the crime and violence that today afflicts our nation will soon come to an end," he said. "Beginning on January 20th, 2017, safety will be restored."

A "vote to prevent school violence..." WTF. I FAIL to see how this is a solution.

Moreover, I fail to see how this is leadership. This is incidental, reactive, political posturing.

A leader offers and advocates for substantive ideas--not merely a "vote to prevent school violence."

I adore NP, but rhetoric fails to move us forward. NP has been extraordinary in defining the ideological and philosophical contrast to policy and governing. But for at least a decade we have been spinning our wheels. Someone has GOT to get this party moving and articulating ideas and solutions.

Crickets.

I wonder if instead of giving thoughts and prayers.
That NRA Gun Owners would get rid of one gun. For the Each Mass Shooting in America.
To Give A Sacrifice of themselves, For Lives that are Sacrificed for ownership of guns
