ANCHORAGE, Alaska (AP) The eldest son of former Republican vice presidential candidate Sarah Palin is seeking to bar the media from covering court hearings after he was accused of assaulting his father last year at the family home in Alaska.
A lawyer for Track Palin, 29, filed a motion Friday to prohibit or limit media access to proceedings in Veterans Court, including a hearing scheduled to take place Tuesday.
Palin's attorney, Patrick Bergt, said the motion was filed on grounds to ensure the case does not become a distraction to other veterans in the system. Veterans Court is part of Alaska's therapeutic court system.
Bergt said he also plans to file an application next week to formally transfer the case to the Veterans Court. The case is officially in Superior Court in Palmer north of Anchorage.

In a speech in Tulsa, Oklahoma, Sarah Palin told a crowd that she would address the elephant in the room, reports Politico. Governor Palin blamed her sons action on PTSD and said that President Obama had neglected veterans.
Track Palin was an Army reservist who performed a tour of duty in Iraq in 2008. A U.S. News report about his time on the frontline detailed that he was to provide air guard, providing protection for a Stryker vehicle. His commanding officer, Col. Burt Thompson, told U.S. News, Hes a good kid and a good soldier and hed like to remain anonymous. Thompson was the commander of the Alaska-based 25th Infantry Divisions 1st Stryker Brigade Combat Team, known as the Arctic Wolves. During the 2008 presidential election, an ABC News report accused Palin of politicizing her sons military service.
2. He Was the Most Injured Palin During Their 2014 Drunken Brawl
In October 2014, the Palin family were involved in an infamous drunken brawl at one of their friends homes. The brawl included, according to CNN, Track Palin trying to start a fight with his father, Todd. The networks report, citing official documents, said that Track was shirtless, heavily intoxicated and belligerent at first. The fight happened at a party thrown at the home of Palin friend Korey Klingenmeyer. Track told officers that the fight broke out when some of the party guests began talking rudely about some of the Palin sisters. The eldest Palin left the fight with the worst damage: a bloody mouth, black eye and an elbow injury.
4. He Was Widely Rumored to Have Cut the Brake Lines of a School Bus When He Was 16
In 2005, Track was accused along with three other teenagers of cutting the brake line of a school bus in Wasilla. The incident was reported on a local news broadcast in Anchorage (video is above). The Frontiersman newspaper reported at the time that four teenagers had stolen a bottle of vodka from a liquor store and gone on a vandalism spree. Political conspiracy theorists reckoned that Track avoided jail time by enlisting in the U.S. Army. Col. Thompson downplayed that rumor in the U.S. News report from October 2008, calling it balderdash.
During Palins run for vice president in 2008, the National Enquirer reported that Track had been suffering from an addiction to Oxycontin.

There's been reports Mr and Mrs Palin have had loud confrontations at neighborhood and at family functions. Mrs Pallin's handling of a State Trooper she didn't like was a scandal, too.
Niiiiiice people - to avoid.

How is it living in the most amazing parts of the U.S. does NOT deepen, awaken the spirit of whoever lives there? Why are the Alaskan Republicans among the greediest, most hateful, most ignorant of all Republican politicians? Is it because there are enough of them to completely control the state and the law, and they grow up believing themselves the supreme rulers of the state, vastly superior, and not responsible to the native citizens, not required to hold respect for the animals, the land itself?
Shallow, crude, insufficient, undisciplined, ugly human imposters, aren't they? It surely didn't start with the Palins, when you recall those right-wing politicians who went to Washington before John McCain shoved creepy Sarah into the nation's limelight.

(160,516 posts)I read in the time before the election that she had a lot of windows added during the building which were duplicates to some big windows used in the local new high school, which gives it a very institutional look from the inside. There was more interesting stuff which I can't remember but the direct implication was that she had contributions to that house's construction from local people which cried out to be investigated.
Thanks for the images. For chrissakes, what a view! Unbelievable.

(19,193 posts)estimates are notoriously high. Realtors hate Zillow, because it give sellers unrealistic expectations about the value of their property.
I have a piece of land, waterfront on a bay off of Lake Ontario, 75' of water frontage, totaling less than 1/4 acre, unimproved land and Zillow says it's worth $125,000. Not. Even. Close. The highest I've been offered is $65,000, and I think I'll take it. Of course I only paid $1500 about 50 years ago, so I guess I did alright.
