Ivanka Trump headed to Fresno to pump up support for Devin Nunes

First Daughter Ivanka Trump will travel to California’s Central Valley next month to campaign for Rep. Devin Nunes (R-CA), ABC 30 reports.

Nunes, the controversial chair of the House Intel Committee, has been accused of carrying water for President Donald Trump.

House Majority Leader Kevin McCarthy (R-CA), who represents Bakersfield, will join the First Daughter in Fresno for her “Keep The House” visit.

“She’s popular, anybody from the Trump family is welcome, and we are honored and excited to see them,” Fresno County Republican Party Chair Fred Vanderhoof told ABC 30.

Central Valley Democrats view the visit as a sign that Nunes is fearing a challenge by Fresno County Deputy District Attorney Andrew Janz...................

Large chunks of Central California are republican strongholds, farmers here have a lot of power and influence away from Sacramento and the Bay Area

34. I'm a native who grew up in a conservative area of SoCal

and I've received hate mail from the John Birch Society, so I know this all too well. (Also, I cringe every time someone says confidently that California is a "safe blue" state; knowing the political patchwork of the state, knowing Republican dirty tricks, and knowing the insane situation that we face right now, I'm confident of nothing).

Mostly, I had in mind the agricultural flavor of his Central Valley district. I just can't see her on a farm somewhere standing in heavy makeup, tight dress, stiletto heels, whole NYC shtick, etc.

OK, most of all I'm just hoping that she'll fail, that Nunes will be in big trouble by November, either legally or politically or both, and that, one way or another, Nunes will lose. Or, even better (I can always dream) already be cooling his heels in jail.

There is a reason the serious name-brand R House members are retiring: Trump’s negative coattails are going to sweep a lot of them out of office. Between Trump’s trade war and his farm worker immigration crackdown, it’s not a good time to be a Trump supporting elected official in farm country.

Easiest campaign ad in the world: Interview farmers who lost their crops because Trump ran their employees off...then talk about all the foreign workers Trump imported since becoming president to work in his golf courses and restaurants.
