Russian journalist: pig's blood, make-up artist helped fake his death

KIEV (Reuters) - Arkady Babchenko, the journalist who faked his own death in order to evade what he says was a Russian plot to assassinate him, on Thursday said pig’s blood and a make-up artist were used to help stage the incident.

In a joint interview in the Ukrainian capital of Kiev, Babchenko said he was taken away in an ambulance form the scene of his faked murder to a morgue, where he changed clothes and began watching the news.

I can not imagine his wife not being in on the spoof. If otherwise, what a horrible thing to put one's spouse through, for whatever reason.

6. I saw him on the news apologize to his wife who went through Hell.

If it meant saving his life, I am sure she will eventually understand if she hasn't already.

This was a brilliant ruse and Putin is "steaming" that his plan wasn't successful. This is one of the few times he was caught trying to murder resisters and he lost and now his nose is being rubbed in it. Of course it will have no real effect on his behavior. He feels superior and empowered and this will only worsen.

7. I would hope that Babchenko and his family

have a plan to get themselves out of harms away. Putin is likely more determined than ever to show who's boss. What an awful situation to be in, to have the Russian mob/military after oneself or family.
