GOP strategist: Trump 'beclowned himself' at G7 summit

Source: The Hill

BY JACQUELINE THOMSEN - 06/10/18 12:04 PM EDT

Republican strategist Steve Schmidt said Sunday that President Trump “beclowned himself” and disgraced the United States at the G7 summit.

“From his slovenly appearance to his unpreparedness, ignorance and arrogance, he beclowned himself,” tweeted Schmidt, one of the loudest GOP critics of Trump. “The Republican majority is filled with cowards who are servile supplicants to the most unfit POTUS ever.”

Schmidt, a former aide to Sen. John McCain (R-Ariz.) and an MSNBC analyst, also called Russian President Vladimir Putin “the greatest intelligence agent – ever” in a separate tweet.

“He has engineered the unraveling of the western alliance, fidelity to democracy in the United States and the severing of the UK from the EU. It’s a remarkable achievement,” he tweeted of Putin.

look well groomed, and neat. He has the strangest shape, like an egg. His pants are way too baggy, shoulder pads too big, suit coats too tight. He is just a slob. A slob who honestly thinks he exhudes "class" Yeah, right. Pretend millionaire, useless kids, three wives. Very classy.

All the other men had their coats buttoned and looked trim. IQ45 looked like he had bought the wrong-sized Trump-brand suit from Walmart and wasn't able to button it over his big belly (229 lbs, hell!).

And of course the trademark Trump brand tie extending below his belt doesn't help.

Yes, Donnie Two Scoops was the biggest man at the summit.

Trump buys his suits off the rack. Even a blimp like Trump can look much better in a tailored suit, and I'm not talking about bespoke suits, just one well tailored off the rack. He looks like he got his clothes at Goodwill. Not that there's anything wrong with that, but as president he should have a sharper image, so to speak.

For a man who's constantly worried about his image, he certainly lets a lot slide in the suit department.

but not enough apparently for the gop to say, "My Country is more important that money.", and denounce him and start whatever its going to take, to right the ship. Greed. One of the deadly sins that get forgotten when a repub is in office.

you are both SO right!

And what hurts even more is that there is still a great number of people that don't see it - they think that we now have somebody who "tells it like it is!"

I ache for what we have become - and a special pain for what PRESIDENT OBAMA must be feeling - seeing what IQ45 is doing to our country and all of the wonderful things PRESIDENT OBAMA did to save our country from the Repub war economy and try to put us back on the track to honor what the United States of America used to stand for.

I also remember when they went after him because of the coffee cup salute thing. The way they huffed and puffed and cried about both of those things (among others) is just ridiculous. It's especially ridiculous given how they close their eyes, stick their fingers in their ears, and hum loudly to avoid acknowledging how Trump behaves.

It seems so long ago that we had Obama in office, doesn't it? Trump's been in office 18 months, and it seems like ten years ago that we had a classy, intelligent, thoughtful President. My dad's a conservative, but even he said he liked Obama personally and would've been happy to have a beer or three with him. I really wish we could go back to those days.

We Have to Believe

I want to be very clear about one thing: Americans remain our partners, friends, and allies. This is not about the American people. We have to believe that at some point their common sense will prevail. But we see no sign of that in this action today by the U.S. administration.

what our "allies" from around the world must now be thinking after IQ45's latest "frat party drunk fest" - blowing up the G7 conference, insulting our best allies, and basically proving to the world what an ignorant ass he really is.

We can only hope that they (our "allies" ) will take the more mature, grown-up action and wait for Mueller & company to do their deed in rescuing us from this nightmare!

Lord knows SOMEBODY should act like an adult!

... he knows that as soon as we get Cheeto out of the White House, we'll all breathe a little easier. He can't comment on that of course, so he's being subtle and careful. I'm sure the G7 leaders are all following the Mueller investigation as best as they can.

It's been suuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuper awkward ever since Trump was inaugurated, but especially so given his temper tantrums against Trudeau lately. I get a lot of questions at work, and they mainly boil down to "What the hell is wrong with your President?"

But Trudeau is right. I think most Canadians understand that eventually Trump will no longer be in office (sooner rather than later, hopefully...) and that Trump isn't representative of how Americans feel about Canada. The friendship is being strained right now, but I think it'll survive Trump and his bullshit.

I’m an American who lived in Mexico for 25 years and I know how we are unofficial ambassadors whether we want to be or not! And we are expected to explain our country regularly.

It’s a big responsability. I was fluent in Spanish and loved Mexico so I made a good impression representing the US.

So if you represent the US well you’re OK. People who know you will forgive the American People at least.

He does seem to recognize that the choice now is between values that are a bit too liberal for his taste, or no moral values at all.

I think he could be a valuable asset.
